XP 2.2.8a issues
I have some 30 XP boxes in one offices joined to a w2k domain. The w2k server has no problem mapping drives on the samba server, however, the XP workstations refuse. Put in user name and password in the box after mapping, and it just pops back up like you've entered a wrong pass/user name. I have changed signorseal to 0 in registry to no avail. Of course, when the server was NT4, I

WinXP - Can Join 2.2.2 domain - Not log on
I have read through the mail archives to find a solution to my problem... to no avail. Here is the issue: I have a Samba 2.2.2 acting as a PDC, with Win2k I can join the domain and logon as a domain user. No problem. (So it is working and set up properly). With WinXP - Pro, I can join the domain, successfully. However, once I do the reboot I cannot logon as a domain user as I did with

Buildbots timeout
Hi Galina, I have observed that some of my bots timeout for no apparent reason (no external load, no network mishaps, no issues), and when I go to check the buildslave process, I see that it has just being restarted. Do you know what could be causing this? Swap is untouched, plenty of disk left, CPUs a plenty. So, I'm contemplating the possibility that the master lost connectivity to it and

R-forge getting the wrong package
After accusing someone of typing 'install.packages("weather")' instead of 'install.packages("webmaps")', I discovered that R-forge really is currently returning the wrong source tarball for packages after 'Repitools' in the alphabet. The data returned from available.package in install.packages goes out of sync at 'Repitools': RemoteREngine

Samba PDC and XP Pro Problem. (Not signorseal - fixed that one some time ago)
Hi, This is a simple query and may well have been answered in the mailing list archives but my searching can't find an answer to my specific problem. My PDC is Samba 2.2.3 on Redhat 7.3, clients are a mix of Win 2k and XP Pro laptops. The Win 2k laptops work fine (all service packs applied) and allow any domain user to log on to any of the 2k laptops. However the XP laptops if I try logging

Windows XP
Good evening all, I'm running samba 2.2.2a on RedHat 7.2 as a PDC and until today all was well. One of my users upgraded their workstation to Windows Xp pro and although they received a message "Welcome to the domain" when they try to log on they receive the message that the domain comptroller cannot be located to validate their account. The workstation show up in the browse list.

Problem Joining an XP CPU to Samba Domain
Hello, I have an XP (SP2) CPU that has just been reloaded with the OS (hard drive was reformatted). The NIC works and I can access the Internet with no problem. When I join the CPU to the domain (there are many other CPUs already on this domain), it joins. After the mandatory reboot, if I try to log in using a domain account, I get an error saying the username and password are incorrect. I

XP and PDC patch alternative
Hey gang, I just joined the list but I've read back a few months and so far noone has mentioned this so I thought I'd drop a line on it. I haven't tried this yet, I have to get back to work to do so but. I think there is an easier way to disable signorseal then to apply the path. Microsnot addresses the issue in the following KB article.

Updating Rcpp package when it is claimed by dplyr
Or, to avoid accusing you of lying. what you think is "vanilla" probably isn't. What exactly did you do? On Unix-likes, I would do something like this echo 'options(repos=list(CRAN="cran.r-project.org"));install.packages("Rcpp")' | R --vanilla (or maybe https://cloud.r-project.org is better...) -pd > On 2 Feb 2018, at 08:15 , Jeff Newmiller
