AIX 4.32 install (PLEASE HELP)
I've been having problems installing Samba on AIX 4.32. I have spent well over two weeks on the issue and have not had any major success. I can get samba 1.9 series of source code and binaries to work fine but the new Samba 2.0 series code is causing me problems. I have the following system and problem. I have a H50 with 2 NICs; one is ether and the other is token. I can't seem to browse

Win95, sharing printers and drives
I have two computers ROLAND (RedHat 5.2 and Samba) and LINDA
(Windows95).
I am already able to print on the printer connacted to LINDA. Yesterday,
before I managed to get the printer working, I was alos able to see
ROLAND's directory 'tmp' and 'winD' on LINDA.
The problem that I saw this morning was that the printing still works
but LINDA can no longer see the shares of

SWAT issue
I have had a RH5.2 server running Samba up for a long time. I upgraded to
Mandrake 6.0. It broke Samba, so I reinstalled using the RPM on the CD.
Samba works just fine, but SWAT will not! If I try to start it manually
(/usr/sbin/swat) it just hangs.
In /etc/services I have a line like this:
swat 901/tcp
In /etc/inetd.conf I have:
swat stream tcp nowait.400 root

HP LJ6 prints blank page at end of W95 print job
I'm trying to use an HP LJ6 as a network printer on a Samba server (linux).
Everything works fine except... whenever a W95 print job finishes, the
printer throws a blank page. I've tried everything short of hex dumping the
output - I've tried using a minimal printcap entry with no filtering, I've
tried using apsfilter... The really odd thing is the binary data itself

IPC$ password
Hello everybody!
I am running here a 1.9.18p2 Samba Server, over a AIX 4.2.1 box, and I am
facing the following problem:
Everytime that I start browsing the Samba server from my W95 client, it
asks me a password for the IPC$ service, wich I supply as a null password,
and after that I am able to use all of my Samba shares, including the
public and private ones. I am using a NT box as my password

xen hg tree from yesterday hangs, when kernel console is directed to ttyS0
Hi,
I am having the following setup:
the kernel displays its messages to vga and to ttyS0. This works without xen.
When I reboot my system with xen with the following options to xen and vmlinuz,
xen.gz com1=115200,8n1 console=com1,vga
vmlinuz console=ttyS0,115200 console=tty0
the system hangs up while booting the dom0 kernel.
Has anyone such a setup working? The thin is, I want a console on

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: fix relocations applying logic and a double-free
Commit 03e0d26fcf79 ("drm/nouveau: slowpath for pushbuf ioctl") included
a logic-bug which results in the relocations not actually getting
applied at all as the call to nouveau_gem_pushbuf_reloc_apply() is
never reached. This causes a regression with graphical corruption,
triggered when relocations need to be done (for example after a
suspend/resume cycle.)
Fix by setting *apply_relocs

Unsupported Printers - just "sticks" in the lpd queue ;(
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello:
I've configured a Linux box with Samba to act as a secondary domain
controller for an existing NT server. I've gotten everything working very
nicely, all my file shares set up, etc.
I've got 6 printers that I need to set up as print shares. The ones that
speak Postscript or PCL were very easy to set up, and work admirably.

Apache Not Serving, But Is Serving?
Hi;
I installed
yum install mod_python
and all went well. So I thought it would be appropriate to reboot apache
apachectl -k restart
and it appeared well but the pages don't load (they hang). Nevertheless,
# ps wax|grep httpd
12179 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/httpd
17698 ? Z 0:00 [httpd] <defunct>
17703 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep httpd
So what gives? Please advise.

static file serving
Hi,
I''ve got 40 mongrels running across 4 machines with a hardware load
balancer as a proxy. The mongrels serve everything, even files.
How screwed am I if I have a 2MB file on my site? Say 40 people are
downloading that file. Are the mongrels completely locked up?

serving static files
It seems that Merb is sending static files with Mongrel::DirHandler.
(mongrel_handler.rb:52)
if get_or_head and @files.can_serve(path_info)
# File exists as-is so serve it up
MERB_LOGGER.info("Serving static file: #{path_info}")
@files.process(request,response)
I haven''t done benchmarks and I''ve hardly glanced at DirHandler''s code
but the
