LTO in LLVM3.8
Hi all, I've been playing around with LLVM and LTO trying to compile some open-source projects. Prior to the 3.8 release I had been using r250630 (if I remember correctly) and I was able to successfully build GamePlay (https://github.com/gameplay3d/GamePlay). Sadly, since upgrading to 3.8 I am getting weird link-time-errors (error: undefined reference to 'XYZ::~XYZ'). It appears

LTO in LLVM3.8
In the linked bug, the issue is that symbols defined in multiple places (LTO and non-LTO) are provided by the linker plugin (which in GCC's case marks the symbols as private). The error appears to be a difference in which symbol gold or ld picks as canonical. I don't think it's the same as the issue you're seeing (unless you're mixing LTO and non-LTO files). I'd guess

Oblivion loses sound during game play
I've filed a bug in bugzilla (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24271) which explains a how Oblivion loses sound during the gameplay. However, I found a workaround to it, which I posted on comment http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24271#c5 So I wish to rename this bug to "Oblivion loses sound during gameplay". Is it possible to rename a bug in bugzilla? Another question is:

Are logfiles generated for for wine sessions?
I've installed my first Windows 32-bit app, which ran just fine. I was a bit concerned how to specify the paths for the installer, since there are no C: D; etc. Surprisingly the installer went fine, and I was able to launch the app. Some (wine) error messages were displayed while the app was running. I'm wondering if it would help to send the logfile to the developers so they can

Hi, I've got a SuSE 9.0 running Samba 3.0.1 and Netatalk 1.6.3 Samba is a member server of a win2k domain, I'm using winbind to authnticate my users. Well, with the Windows users, everything is ok. But not with the Mac users I'd like to setup Netatalk to authenticate my Macs against the win2k domain as with Windows. Is this possible? I've sarched the web all around and

Steam Games - Flickering/Flashing Menu during Gameplay.
Hello. I recently installed Steam through Wine 1.0.0, but when I run DOD: Source, Half Life, DOD, or Deathmatch Classic, I experience the same problem. The game loads and runs fine, but the menu screen is flashing over the actual gameplay images every second. It's as if the menu screen is trying to stay on top of the game, but it's struggling to do so. I am using Ubuntu 8.04, Wine 1.0.0

Possible new CentOS user (currently WBEL)
Hi, For a few months i've been using WhiteBox Enterprise Linux. In fact, i've migrated all my companie's servers (about 20) to this RHEL distro like. Well, it's not that i'm not satisfied, but WBEL is a one man show and that causes me some preocupation. And besides, it seems to me that it can't stand up to the rythm RHEL evolves. That's why i'm writing to you,

EVE Online
Trying to run EVE Online through wine on my Asus EEEPC with a special flavor of Ubuntu called Easy Peasy built for netbooks. I run the app after doing all the necessary installation procedures and once the game goes full screen, I get sound just fine but the screen goes black and eventually freezes the computer entirely. I ran wine through terminal and got these errors: Code:

Dune 2000 freezes after a few minutes - Any ideas?
Hi there. I got a problem with good old Dune2000. Installing works fine and the game starts too. After a few minutes of fine gameplay (2-5 minutes [Rolling Eyes] ) the game freezes. Before the game freezeses, the cursor runs kinda too fast. It rotates like crazy but the game works normal. Any ideas? I'am using Linux Mint Helena 8 and Wine 1.2 (now rc 5). And yes, I patched the game to version

Bully works on mac?!
I mean this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RySQjPJvcQ Works in Wineskin (a gui for [dar]wine, I suppose), so why is still garbage in wine? Maybe I miss to know something, or it uses modified engine. There, the gameplay seems to be perfect...

Ubuntu: World of Warcraft 3.3.5a OpenGL and Intel GMA issue
ok, I'll get straight to the point: I'm trying to run World of Warcraft (Version 3.3.5 Build 12340) and I have an Intel GMA 4500MHD Integrated chipset, and I can login just fine, but when it tries to render a character, it crashes and spits out an error via the WowError.exe, and if I don't use OpenGL, it can play, but the FPS will spike horribly at random times, and all player

Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast running very slowly.
The above. Jedi Outcast installed, and ran to the startup screen as normal. Movies played at a reasonable speed. However, the main menu was incredibly slow. I tried changing various settings to LOW, without luck. I searched and found something about running it in 24- bit mode instead of 16-bit mode, but that did not help either, because a) there was no 24-bit mode, and b) 32-bit mode was no

An Issue concerning FS2004
Hi! I've just installed FS2004. I am using version 0.9.54, as recommended in the AppDB. My Linux OS Is Debian Etch(4.0) With a fully capable processor(Games of such category run perfectly on Windows). Followed the instructions: Installed via the "WINXP" Mode, then switched to Windows 98. Here's the problem: The Splash screen is showing, then it disappears and these are the errors

stat(2) cache, samba3 versus samba4
Short version: Is there a way to enforce use of this cache: ./source3/smbd/statcache.c I noticed it is absent from the ./source4 directory I limited server max protocol = SMB2 but that didn't do it. Long story: ----------- My samba server (4.2.14) hosts a couple of game install trees for a Windows 7 computer. Some of the games cause storms of stat(2) system calls, here is a partial

Mouse still not working properly on OS X with 1.4
This has been an ongoing issue with all of the 1.4 releases. In several games, notably Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout:NV, and Far Cry, the mouse will not function properly. On main menus, the mouse will be stuck in one quadrant of the screen, as if what the mouse thinks the screen boundaries are is not aligned with the actual boundaries. In game, the mouse swings wildly all over the screen,

Starcraft crashes
I have used Starcraft under wine for a long time, and I have just learned to put up with random crashes. The only version of wine I have gotten to work is ancient (991212)! I have tried more recent versions, but I haven't been able to get them running at all. Is there a wine that doesn't crash randomly running starcraft? What wine do you use for starcraft? (BTW, there seems to be a

Ubuntu 10.04 + Wine minimizing trouble.
Hello, when I run a fullscreen app through WINE such as WoW and I ctrl-alt-d to do something on the desktop then try to go back to the game my WINE window is no longer full screen, it shows up in the middle of the desktop at about 1/2 the size of the screen. Before the new Ubuntu update all I had to do was switch workspaces and switch back, but now that isn't working. Any ideas?
