Black Screen on C&C and Diablo II
Heya! I'm using Gentoo Linux, kernel 2.6.30.2, wine 1.1.26. Installing C&C gold was possible, playing also. But only playing direct after Installation. I then saved my game, everythings perfect. On restarting, I just get a blank screen, don't know why. Output: Code: fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x14ed30,0x14ec68): stub fixme:d3d_caps:IWineD3DImpl_FillGLCaps

This software is suppposed to be compatible with Linux usb-storage since version 2.15... but I didn't find how to use it. If I do "lsmod | grep -i usb", I see the

Graphical text error in game (MI5)
Hi, have recently bought MI5 (Tales of Monkey Island), and I am currently trying to run it under wine in Ubuntu 9.04 and I am running the latest development version 1.1.25. I am running this over the latest stable version due to less graphical errors when trying to run the game. To get the game running I followed this guide posted on the telltale's ( the creators of the game) forum >

Trackmania NF 2.11.11 fails to start in Wine 1.1.28
I'm a new user of Ubuntu 9.04 and have installed Wine 1.1.28. Have not been able to get Trackmania Nations Forever 2.11.11 to start despite the AppDB indicating it should be fine. Installer worked fine, but program crashes on startup with an error message saying "Application has encountered a serious error and needs to close". Dump file indicates an unhandled exception. First

ATI mobilty radeon 9200 & no PixelShader
hello, the only reason I'm still using windows are games. Unfortunately games running perfectly there (e.g. Portal) refuse to start on wine complaining about a lack of PixelShader 1.1 (AFAIK my radeon should even have 1.4), 3dMark2001 (old one because I wanted a small download...) reports PixelShader: N/A Now my question: Is this wine related or is it my graphics driver? Direct rendering

Wine Crashes with EVE-Online
Hey everyone, please excuse the briefness of the post but I am trying to get to bed after screwing with this for 6 hours. To proceed: 9 times out of 10 when I launch Eve using "wine explorer /desktop=0,1,800x600 "F:\EVE\eve.exe"" the app just doesn't launch. It throws the splash screen then just minimizes it with no errors and leaves up the windowed session. When the app

SOLVED: World of Warcraft d3d crash and rendring problems
Hi wine people, with some help from the Nvidia forum I managed to solve a problem with World of Warcraft 4.x.x that I suspect is directX / Wine related: Enabling -d3d9 and -d3d11 would cause the below mentioned problem with Wine 1.2.2, while it would crash World of Warcraft program under Wine 1.3.15 (Ubuntu 11.04 debs), while OpenGL runs perfectly (30-60 fps with all opengl settings on ultra):

WoW using d3d
Sharing this in case it is helpful to any other WoW players with the opengl issues or to anyone working on d3d in Wine. I've been trying World of Warcraft without the -opengl tag since Blizzard introduced their latest round of opengl breaking updates. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the game both playable and stable in d3d. I still have a couple graphical issues but they are not

Re: Unable to create D3D device
I got a similar error: Unable to create D3D device: 1272x883 So, I opened Users/[my name]/AppData/Roaming/Need For speed World/ and then there is a config file. I found out that 1272x883 is the resolution it wants to create the game on. When I changed that to 1280x1024, it started up perfectly. So I suppose something is going wrong in the saving of screen resolution, on which the game fails to

D3D settings
I've looked at different d3d settings in the application database and have a few questions. 1. I dont have a d3d registry key in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] 2. I created a .reg file to import and just need some explanation on the values. As posted here is my .reg file for import > [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] > >

ATI driver needed to run D3D games?
Hello, I'm quite new in Wine and haven't been able tu run any games. The last two games tested are installing fine but when I tried to launch them I have a message saying that graphic device is below our min specs. My graphic card is ATI V5250 Mobility and because I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 i can't install ATI proprietary drivers which are not supported anymore with xorg 1.6. So my

Tons of D3D improvements?!
In the latest release I counted at least 80 patches that improve wined3d in several different ways, which is absolutely awesome! But I'm wondering where this sudden interest in this specific part comes from (as well as all the sudden translation improvements)... Did the inclusion of WineD3D in other open source projects like VirtualBox suddenly spark some major interest in improving the D3D
