no game seems to work with wine
>any one ? >mabye i should get that cedega or what ever its called >or should i send a error report to wine hq ? saying that two people (me and Abdoo47) have this problem ? What one game specifically are you trying to run? We should focus on getting one to work, preferably a simple one. When you say it doesn't "run," does it even install completely? Does anything work with

isolinux issue with AOpen DVD writer
I'm having a problem booting Slackware 10.1 boot CD's as well as an isolinux image of my own. The system is a VIA Epia M10000 and the drive is an AOpen ISU-8424E CD/DVD writer. If I use a Toshiba CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive SD-R2612 in place of the AOpen DVD writer, the cd boots fine and everything works as expected. What's the best course for further debugging of this problem? Mini-PC box to run server
On the cheap side, the ITX or even MicroATX machines work great. These are commodity items, so they tend to be far less expensive than custom solutions. Voice Modem Support?
I'm still playing with * at the moment. Just trying to figure out how much it can do. Anyway, it looks like * supports voice modems. So here come the obvious questions... How well does * support vmodems? How do I set * to use my vmodem for incoming calls? Has anyone gotten it to work? Thanx, Mike Diehl.

AMD Cool'N Quiet = Processor issues
Hello there. I'm new to the forums and pretty new to having linux on my desktop but I've had to use command line unix/linux at school and at work. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex 64 bit version. I have a HIS 2600XT video card, an Athlon 64 3500+, and 2 gigs of RAM. I've been having some issues with slow FPS in Guild Wars and Disciples 2 (using the GoG version). I assumed

ipfw core dump
Hi, This is the first time I've come across this: pid 11415 (ipfw), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped) The core dump landed in root's home directory in one of my jails. Has anyone seen this before? Should I be concerned? chkrootkit says nothing. (How trustworthy is its output? ;-) Thanks. Cheers. -- Ng Pheng Siong <ngps@netmemetic.com> http://firewall.rulemaker.net

Disc reading problem...
I have a certain Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast disc that I am trying to load an autorun.exe off of with wine, but with a peculiar problem: the game executable is labeled "AUTORUN.EXE;1", along with many other files of a similar suffix. When I try to run it, wine works for a bit then gives up, showing no screen or other indication. I then tried to rename the exe and other files

Jk2 v1.02 and v1.04
Well guys, got myself in an annoying situation here. I'm using Ubuntu and i installed Wine. Then i installed Jk2 (Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast) and it worked straight away! I could play online on v1.02. I didn't try v1.04, because v1.04 is for nubs lol. Anyway, the next day i tried to refresh the server list and nothing shown up. So i updated to v1.04 to have a look if it could

Game: Eve Online
When I try to install allfonts it goes to tell me that the checksum did not match and after retrying it then says "sha1sum mismatch! Rename /home/anonymous/.cache/winetricks/droid/DroidSans-Bold.ttf and try again." I am doing this because when trying to turn on the game eve online I have been able to install and accept user agreement and to patch and now I am at the login screen but

how to synch multiple servers?
Is there a way to synch multiple servers at once so when one is changed, samba updates all the other servers at the same time automatically? -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/how-to-synch-multiple-servers--tp28019825p28019825.html Sent from the Samba - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Human readable .ssh/known_hosts?
Hi list members, just tried to get some old records out of my known_hosts, which is 'HashKnownHosts yes'. Is there a way to unhash host names and/or IPs? Google tells about, how to add hosts, but not the opposite, may be I miss some thing. Is this does not work at all, is there a best practice for cleaning old hosts and keys out? How to bulk add machine accounts during PDC hardware refresh?
Greetings- I have not found discussed / documented what to do with machine accounts when moving a Samba PDC to new hardware. I have seen that uid/gid numbers must match between the old/new system. I am thinking to use adduser to accomplish that, then make the numbers on the new server match, using a text editor. After that, can I simply enter the machine account entries by hand with a text

high memory utilzation

Hi All, I have strings made up of an unknown number of letters, digits, and spaces. Strings always start with one or two letters, and always end with one or two digits. A set of letters (one or two letters) is always followed by a set of digits (one or two digits), possibly with one or more spaces between the sets of letters and digits. A set of letters always belongs to the following set of
