WINE install of Dreamweaver MX fails
Hello. I'm new to this forum.
Before I posted this, I did due diligence searching for an answer to my problem. I found and tried 2 possibles; but neither would work for me.
First my machine specs:
64 machine dual boot between WinXP and Ubuntu Janty Jackalope 9.04.
When I used Hardy Heron 8.04 last year, I was able to install Version 7.0 of Dreamweaver MX on a fluke.. I still don't know

Steam Installation Errors
Hey guys, I'm sure that this question has already been answered. If so, could someone direct me to the answer. The problem is that, steam.exe cannot access the Internet. My Internet service is fine, and I have not had any problems with steam accessing the Internet in the past. The problem only started a few days ago, and I am not sure what the cause is. I have tried basically everything. I

Icecast2 Source Tutorial
Poor man's basic Icecast source setup instructions.
Everything needed to set up a basic streaming system without the mess.
This tutorial assumes you've successfully setup icecast2 for this.
This tutorial also assumes you've got audio files to use to stream to iceca=

You will also need a method seperate from your source computer to tune-in t=

Set working directory by dragging text file onto R shortcut? [WinXP, unfortunately]
Hi R-helpers,
I must use WinXP at work, and I'm missing a particular feature that's
available in R on my Mac at home...
In WinXP I would like to launch R by dragging and releasing a text
file on top of the R shortcut on my desktop. Then, I would like the
working directory to be automatically set to the location of that text
file.
That's what works in MacOS, but I can't figure

Executing shortcut (.lnk) files?
Is it possible to execute a program using the shortcut files (aka .lnk)
that are generated for the Start Menu et. al? I realize that many
linux distros populate the Gnome and/or KDE menu automatically, but it
would be nice to be able to launch a shortcut from the command-line.
Is that currently possible, or does some parser need to be created?
Thanks,

If you do not believe there is any problem, consider

If Johnny Hughes's solution works for him and he is

Elite Force 2 Shortcut
Managed to get Elite Force 2 installed (had help from here actually) and the game plays fine.
When I launch it directly from EF2.exe that is.
I have had no luck creating a shortcut however. Every time I try (entering the correct command line) I simply get the following.

Installing R-2.6.2 on Windows multiuser
What is the proper way to install/configure R-2.6.2 for M$-Windows
XPSP2 for multiple users when the other users don't have administrative
rights. I don't remember this was a problem with previous versions of R.
I installed R-2.6.2 as administrator on the computer. It installs,
runs, and can manually update fine. The main user of this computer does
not have administrator rights. Now,

R crashing (PR#11702)
Full_Name: Songeeta Palchaudhuri
Version: 2.7
OS: Windows XP
Submission from: (NULL) (129.83.31.1)
Hi, RGui crashes when I try to launch it from the Start Menu or any other
shortcut placed on my Desktop. It used to work if I went the long way through
explorer and double clicked the exe file directly, but that no longer works
either. I've tried reinstalling and not sure what else to do.

wine and catia OpenGL issues
Hi all
Has anyone tried running catia (R5V16) useing wine.
I am unable to get the install of the program to start off in wine.
I have tried 0.9.27, heard about an opengl issue and went to 0.9.29.
Thinking it might be an issue with my lack of understanding of the
operation of wine I installed AutoCAD14 and Homeworld2 to know if it was
working correctly and had no problems.

very basic question launching application locally from a linux server to a linux workstation.
Can I click on an icon in a Samba share on a server from a linux workstation
and launch the program or shell locally, instead of the at the server?
I know this works in Windows, but I can't seem to find a simple way of doing
this in Ubuntu.
