Starcraft / DirectDrawRenderer = opengl
I'm having a problem with the directdraw opengl renderer and StarCraft
on wine 0.9.49.
When I run starcraft with the opengl renderer, only 1x1 pixel is
displayed stretched to full screen size.
The other settings have no effect, (Other than RenderTargetLockMode =
readtext, if I leave this at default StarCraft crashes, but this is
known about).
I've updated my graphics drivers to the

diablo 1 fun and troubles
I have installed Diablo 1 lately and found Wine can't load the game
succesfully. I see a few frames of Blizzard's intro, then it freezes.
With Cedega 4.0 it works pretty well> I played for a couple hours then found
later I can't load my games back. Ain't that funny? It seems to be a menu
problem. Another thing I noticed with Cedega is, multiplayer hangs really
quick.

Direct3D fails to initialize in Diablo II/WINE
Hi all,
I was trying to run Diablo II under WINE, but I receive a "Direct3D
failed to initialize" error in a dialog box. The log says this:
***** DirectDraw error: Failed to get gamma control interface! - <
unknown > (0x80004002)
I tryed to run in both 640x480x16 and 640x480x8, but both give the same
error message. I'm using Linux 2.4.1, XFree86 4.0.1 on a GeForce256 DDR

Diablo II not working
Everywhere I look people are just saying that Diablo II runs perfectly on wine without any problems. I installed successfully, but when I insert the play disc, my screen resolution changes and in the corner I can see one white letter with a black background that is constantly changing not apparently spelling anything. After a while this stops, and I can't do anything until I restart X.

Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge much slower with 0.9.16
RA2:YR is a 2D game - I think it probably uses DirectDraw. It runs
slower with 0.9.16 and now the in game cursor flickers. Besides minor
audio problems it ran fine in 0.9.15.
I tried setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\DirectDrawRenderer to
"gdi". It made no difference. Is that the corrent way to turn off the
new DirectDraw changes?

now that i got diablo II installed fine (full install) , wine hangs when i
try to start the game. i compiled wine with --disable-debug, so i recompiled
it without that, but it still wouldn't give me any errors. it just sits

anybody had similar problems before, or has an idea of what it happening?
thx in advance, totti.

Starcraft and Wine - Graphics Problems
Allright, I'm at my wits end here.
About 6 months ago I had starcraft working perfectly under wine. Couldn't
tell the difference between it and running natively under windows.
Anyway, between now and then I've reinstalled and updated drivers, etc and
I can't get wine to work for the life of me (Recent version too)
When I had it working I was using a script to start a second X

Diablo 2 greyscale WINE 1.1.31
I am having difficulty getting D2 w/ LOD 1.12 to run in colour through wine. I am running a ASUS eeepc 701 w/ the cpu running at 900mhtz and 2gb of ram. OS is Ubuntu 9.10 netbook edition and the game is installed on a Western Digital Elements 1tb hdd connected through usb 2.0 and I had to install the GLIDE3toOpenGL-wrapper v 1.4d to get it to run at all.
The game runs fine, considering the

Wine Starcraft slowness
I am running Starcraft under Wine on RH 7.0 with Stock XF86 server. I
got OpenGL to work with my NVidia GEForce 2 MX card (hence, DRI works),
because I have installed the Linux version of Unreal Tournament and it
works beautifully. Unfortunately, that is much more than I can say
about Starcraft under Wine. I understand that there is an X extension
called DGA that I can use to speed things

Directdraw and Wine Compilation
Hi, I am trying to compile wine in an AMD64 Ubuntu machine, taking the
precautions needed shown in the winehq's wiki to do it. The
compilation finishes fine, but for some reason there is no support for
some things that used to have in the i386 pre-compiled package.
One of them is ALSA sound. I use ALSA because for some reason OSS
sometimes ruins the sound making it look like a loud scratch

Diablo II, Wine and GCC 4.0
I was reading the notes about using Diablo II under Wine and I noticed
that one of the requirements was not to have Wine compiled with gcc 4.0.
Is this still the case and if so why would the compiler make a
difference? I know I could run with a cracked version of Diablo II, but
I would prefer not to.
Thanks,
Kevin
