Direct3D fails to initialize in Diablo II/WINE
Hi all, I was trying to run Diablo II under WINE, but I receive a "Direct3D failed to initialize" error in a dialog box. The log says this: ***** DirectDraw error: Failed to get gamma control interface! - < unknown > (0x80004002) I tryed to run in both 640x480x16 and 640x480x8, but both give the same error message. Directdraw and Wine Compilation
Hi, I am trying to compile wine in an AMD64 Ubuntu machine, taking the precautions needed shown in the winehq's wiki to do it. The compilation finishes fine, but for some reason there is no support for some things that used to have in the i386 pre-compiled package. One of them is ALSA sound. I use ALSA because for some reason OSS sometimes ruins the sound making it look like a loud scratch

Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge much slower with 0.9.16
RA2:YR is a 2D game - I think it probably uses DirectDraw. It runs slower with 0.9.16 and now the in game cursor flickers. Besides minor audio problems it ran fine in 0.9.15. I tried setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\DirectDrawRenderer to "gdi". It made no difference. Is that the corrent way to turn off the new DirectDraw changes?

Starcraft and Diablo II use a lot of CPU power
Hello, I am running Wine 1.0 under Fedora 9 x86_64. The problem is that the two mentioned games use a lot of CPU power about 50 % on a 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo. At first I thought this is caused by GDI DirectDraw renderer, but changing to opengl did not help. Also, it is just the same when you configure Diablo to use Direct3D renderer. Does anybody has any idea where can I look for the source of this

Diablo2 performances
Hello. I'm trying to run Diablo 2 under wine. The game installs fine (D2 + LoD + Patch 1.11b), but I experience some serious performances issues. Wine is set to Windows XP mode (otherwise, the game protection doesn't work). The game is very sluggish when the minimap is open, when setting the key binding, or on battle.net menus. The only choice I got from D2VidTst.exe is DirectDraw HAL.

Test: patch to add adva,ced d3d settings in winecfg
Hello everybody... My patch to add advanced d3d settings in winecfg is almost ready. In fact, i only have to figure out how to detect video memory size to display it when no key is set to force it or to reset. Stefan D told me to use DirectDraw, but i wouldn't find. dxdiag - exits without success
Hi there. I'm trying to turn on DirectX in Wine. (please read whole message, and only after that blamming me). Recently, I've used Gentoo and it's Wine. But after that, I switched to Fedora and start using Fedora's Wine. Some programs load successfully, but not DirectX. As I said before, everything was normal in Gentoo, but not in Fedora. (for both I have amd64 (x86_64) arch).

Wine with Voodoo5 card, using Glide
Hello: I've got a PC that I just set up with Fedora 10 that has a Voodoo5 5500 AGP card. I have the Glide3 drivers installed, and Glide is working with X11 just fine with DRI. My question is, how do I get Wine to use this card in Glide mode (not DirectDraw or Direct3D)? Netfilter API -Kylix
Dear Friends, Does anyone know any kylix source which use netfilter API? what about some "simple" C examples? (I have seen libiptq man page ;) ) I want to write a program (with kylix if it is possible)to monitor the traffic of an IP address and whenever its credit is over (which will be calculated againts the traffic) simply reject any traffic to/from that IP, any idea or clue ? No any D3D works
Sorry, if I miss my question, but I can't find any answer in the web. Purpose of DIB Engine?
Hello again. Today I got following question: What is the purpose of DIB Engine? Is it to speed up DirectDraw apps, or is it to add missing functionality for DirectDraw ?emulation?? I'm asking this because I recently tested few DDraw apps (Fallout2 and Happyland Adventures) with DIB enabled and... well for HA there was now significant speed difference, and Fallout2 slowed down even more :( .

Runing win32 Delphi applications with wine ?
Hello list reader, Did people succed in trying to run Delphi applications with wine ??? Well, if they didn't work we can always try to use kylix to get them work. But I suspect that we will have to go with lot of rewriting because of the type of these applications : graphical intensive ones. Any ideas about that ? Thanks ! Guy

DirectDraw error and mouse stuck in the corner
