Damn itcl to hell.
Hi, Sorry to bug people with this what must be a very trivial question. I've got a Mandrake 8.0 installation and have been trying in vain to get CodeWeavers Wine (preview #3) installed. I've downloaded and installed the 'blessed' version of itcl from the CodeWeaver's website (itcl-8.3.2-7mdk.i586.rpm) and am still getting the itcl not found error when I try to run winesetup.

wine reports wrong version
I have been running, first, codeweaver's wine and, just recently I built and installed wine-20010918-1. Nonetheless, no matter which version I have had, doing a "wine --version" produces "Wine release 20010824". I have uninstalled wine before switching from one version to another. Doing "rpm -qa |grep wine" shows only wine-20010918-1 installed. Somewhere

Hi, We have Windows2k machines connected and authenticated with Samba. We also have MIT kerberos for Linux systems. What we want to do is using samba as a gateway, clients using Windows2k machines can access their AFS file space. We are trying to encrypt the usernames and passwords and send to samba side which then decrypt and retrieve the plain-text password. Does Samba have

BUG + FIX in smbprint
Dear Samba Team, the smbprint script as provided with Suse7.2 for Samba Version 2.2.0 did not work. The problem was that the file to be printed was not transfered via stdin after the print - command. I changed the smbprint script to pass the commands via the -c option. My changes and comments are marked with MR27092001MR in the smbprint attached. I did not find this in the lists, so I hope this

cannot install codeweavers wine
I am trying to install the Codeweavers version of wine (pre-release 2) and I am having problems. When I try to install (using rpm), I get the message "installing package codeweavers-wine-20010112-1 needs 7Mb on the / filesystem". My / filesystem is not overly large, but I still have approx 60Mb available on /. Is the error stating that the install requires 7Mb on /, or it needs 7Mb more

browse list problems continued.
Hello, Thanks for all the help so far. I've got nmbd and smbd so they're running now, not being blocked out by my firewall however nmbd is still unable to sync browse lists with my domain master browser, which i don't have as i'm in a workgroup and i'd like samba to be the master browser. I have enabled wins support see smb.conf below. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

samba synchronization of browse lists.
Hello, I just installed samba 2.2.3a on my FreeBSD 4.4 box and am trying to connect to it using my win2ksp2 machine. I've got it set up to be the local master browser in my workgroup for my internal network. However it's not working. I checked the logs and in log.nmbd it's trying to bind to a domain master browser for the browse lists, which i obviously don't have. Is this a new

password synchronization.
Hello, I'm running samba 2.2 on FreeBSD 4.4. I was wondering if there was a way to sync up the samba and FreeBSD user passwords so that when either via the unix passwd or samba's smbpasswd program a user changes a password it is changed through both systems? If anyone is dong this successfully please let me know. Thanks. Dave.

Codeweaver's Wine - Autolaunch?
I had a little trouble installing WINE and, becuase of that, tried several different versions. It turned out the sound trouble was not a WINE issue, but a devfs issue, so I deactivated devfs (devfs=nomount). I am using the latest RPM of Codeweaver's WINE with Mandrake 8.1. I've got Codeweaver's WINE up and running now. When I first tried this, I could type a win .exe file from

What systems are you using to listen to Oggs?
What rigs do you folks use to listen to your music? I have a P-III 500 with Altec Lansing speakers in the dining room and a P-II 350 with Labtec speakers in the Guestroom/office. Sorry, I can't remember what model the Lansings are off the top of my head. The Labtec speakers are fairly cheap. I have a PCI ensonique sound card in the P-III system. I not sure what kind of sound card is in the

Stupid question: where is the Preferences box?
Good day! I am GUI-challenged, and proud of it, but I would like a bit of help. When I start netscape (picked from an Earthlink CD) it raises a message box that says (this is picked from --debugmsg +text and folded for mailing convenience): trace:text:DrawTextExW L"Error: temporary directory E: does not exist. Please enter a new directory in the preferences box.", 99 , [(0,0),(264,0)]

Runtime error with winelib and CreateMutex()
Can't find anything at goggle, so hope someone in this group can help. I've installed codeweavers-wine-20010305-1.i386.rpm on my RedHat 7.0, which put everything in /opt/wine/.
