NFS lock contention for dovecot-uidlist
We are in the process of migrating away from Courier-IMAP/POP3 and
Maildrop. I want to use Dovecot (LDA, IMAP, POP3). During my testing, it
has worked great except for dotlocking on the dovecot-uidlist file.
The problem:
When a delivery is being made with deliver and a mail client has the
mailbox open (Thunderbird in this case), neither Thunderbird or deliver
can get a dotlock on the

Quota warning not generated
I am testing out the unofficial quota warning patch with Dovecot 1.0.0,
and no matter what values I use for the storage or messages values, the
warning script is never executed.
My plugin settings are:
plugin {
quota = maildir:storage=20480
quota_warning = storage=80%:messages=10 /usr/local/bin/quota-warning.sh
}
I've tried the following quota_warning lines without any luck:

Double-clicking in tk list dialogs
Am I the only one who finds himself futilely double-clicking a CRAN
mirror in the dialog for choosing a CRAN mirror? Yes, double-clicking
works in Windows, but not in the Tk-based dialog on Linux. I'm going
to wear out my mouse button.
Adding the following line to the tk_select.list function in the tcltk
package adds double-click functionality to list dialogs:

Exact metadata reproduction
Hi! I'm just now preparing the first, still very experimental (way pre-1.0)
release of a new archival tool, similar to (and based on) zip/unzip, with the
difference that the enhanced zip tool can store x86-based decompressor code
fragments in archives along with the compressed data, which the unzip tool
runs in an isolated user-mode virtual machine in order to extract the data.
The main

Wine - Broderbund Print Shop - printing
I am running wine 20050725.
I used winetools to get an assortment
of software loaded and with a bit of tweeking
it worked.
I then ran the install CD for Broderbund
"The Print Shop". It loaded OK and after
copying a few dll's from my windows box, it
came up and ran.
My problem is with printing.
After reading through the users guide on printing
and poking around in the archives

vector operation using regexpr?
Hi,
Here's my problem... I have a data frame with three columns containing
strings. The first columns is a simple character. I want to get the
index of that character in the second column and use it to extract the
item from the third column. I can do this using a scalar method. But
I'm not finding a vector method. An example is below.
col1 col2 col3

DLL not loading, msjava.dll, Encyclopedia Britannica

any useful information (is there a search function for the list archive?). Im
new to Wine (and only recently switched to Linux).
Problem:
I'm trying to run the Britannica Encyclopedia 2000 (BCD2000), but when I start
it I get the error message (in a popup window) "Unable to start the

Hi,
This might be related to the bug reported earlier about parsing URLs
with parens, but the following looks like a bug to me:
[ZIP archives](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZIP_(file_format) "ZIP

Sloppy argument checking for named arguments
Christian --
This is not a bug, but a feature, and the dot is not the issue here. R uses
partial argument matching on function arguments.
So:
> f <- function(foobar = 0){print(foobar)}
> f
function(foobar = 0){print(foobar)}
>
> f(fo=1)
[1] 1
> f(foo=1)
[1] 1
> f(foob=1)
[1] 1
> f(fooba=1)
[1] 1
> f(foon=1)
Error in f(foon = 1) : unused argument(s) (foon ...)

Dovecot 2.0.3
I upgraded today to from 1.2.12 to Dovecot 2.0.3 with the dbox format. I
just figured out there are still mail in some users directories with the
maildir format. These mail are not displayed at all. Nether with
roundcube nor with Thunderbird. How could I convert the remaining
maildir mails to dbox?
Thanks
Matthias

tdbsam database. They add the user fine to the /etc/passwd file but

Translation Dictionary (Rosetta Stone)
Dear List:
A while back I found a web site called the Rosetta Stone for Computer
Algebra Systems showing how to do similar operations in different
symbolic programs. This has been very helpful for moving between
Mathematica, Yacas and Maxima.
I wonder if anyone maintains something akin to this for translating R to
SAS, Minitab, Stata etc?
I am familiar with the various (useful) reference
