Zap 1.4 error line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'
I've looked over EVERY resource I can find, but have run short of a solution. I'm running CentOS 4.4. Just installed Asterisk 1.4 and Zaptel 1.4 and libpri, but when I run ztcfg I get this error: line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl' I realize this is a udev error (or from what I've read), but I cannot find out how to resolve this. I've reinstalled zaptel

DAHDI trouble (again) Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'
Because of a kernel upgrade i needed to recompile DAHDI. Dahdi 2.0.0 with 2.0.1 was working ok, after the reboot and compile it doesn't start anymore. Firstly it tells me it is using /etc/zaptel.conf which is deprecated, if i remove that file it complains that this file is missing..... Secondly i get an error about a missing dev file which refers to zap (which seems strange to me because

no lights on TE405P, but shows up in lspci, modules loaded
I pulled a working TE405P from one box and put it in another box. I compiled the zaptel modules, modprobe zaptel, modprobe wct4xxp, but no lights on the card come on. I do an lspci and the card shows up there. I ran ztcfg -vv and got the error message Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl' so I followed the instructions in README.udev the error message went away, but now when I

[Zaptel] Checking that TDM card works?
Hello Since TDM cards are known for being particular when it comes to motherboards (PCI 2.2, etc.), I was wondering if there is a utility that can check that the Zaptel driver works OK and can tell if the TDM card is compatible? That way, if an FXO module is not reporting an incoming call, we'd know it's because of the Zaptel driver, and not something elsewhere. Are "dmesg",

chan_zap not compiling.
Hi all. chan_zap not compiling, yes yes I know this sounds trivial but here me out... This morning I decided to upgrade to Asterisk 1.4.2 and Zaptel 1.4.1. I successfully installed zaptel 1.4.1 and the card is picked up and correctly configured. ztcfg shows the following: [root@zion root]# ztcfg -vv Zaptel Version: 1.4.1 Echo Canceller: MG2 Configuration ====================== Channel

ztdummy does not load properly at server startup
Hi I run asterisk 1.4.2 with zaptel 1.4.1. Zaptel is only needed for the ztdummy driver to get the Meetme() application to work. I don't have any specific hardware. And it does work nicely. When I reboot the machine however I have to manually load the driver like this: [root@vink ~]# modprobe ztdummy Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf line 0: Unable to open master device

Boot load wcfxo does not configure self under Ubuntu 6
When booting Ubuntu 6.06.1 (Linux 2.6.15-27-386), wcfxo would load but not configure. I have three ways to manually force wcfxo to configure: 1) ztcfg, 2) modprobe -f wcfxo, or of course 3) unload and reload wcfxo. Each works equally well. As a workaround, now I have to put ztcfg in rc.local, which Debian doesn't favour. I had compiled the same zaptel under Ubuntu 5.02.0 on two

But still problems: Here is my ztcfg output: asterisk:/etc/asterisk # ztcfg -vvvvv Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf line 4: Unable to read Zaptel version information. Zaptel

Need to run ztcfg manually?
I have a new asterisk system with a T1 card. It appears that running "ztcfg -vv " is required in order for asterisk to start properly. Is this correct? Are people adding this command to the asterisk startup script? Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
