Marketing Materials
The owner of my company just asked me for an Asterisk brochure. Has
anyone seen such a creature? I know of some really informative
websites, but I think a pdf would be priceless at this point.
Thanks,

VoIP service providers/PSTN termination points
Hello ppl,
Am looking at some PSTN termination providers in US. If this question
has been repeated, please point me to the correct link, as I've tried
searching the archives but have been unsuccesful so far.
I have come across quite a few companies which provide the same, such as :

passing through MWI info from SBC
Hi.. I am about to replace my aging Nortel Venture
system with an Asterisk system and 6 Polycom IP 501
phones, and a couple sipura 841's for less used areas.
We have 3 phone lines here. One is SBC, one Vonage,
and one Voipjet... One hangup is that I can't figure
out how to pass through a voicemail waiting indication
from SBC. This is important because my wife and her

I'm FED UP with BroadVoice
After months of BroadVoice ignoring my trouble tickets for dropped calls,
delayed termination, etc., I'm throwing in the towel. While they have
credited $19.95 to my account, they refuse to credit anything more, despite
ALL of the problems I've had. I feel the least they could do is credit the
remaining $8.61 to my account, yet they won't.
I haven't really been following up on

The bottom line is that they compare retail VOIP providers like Comcast
Cable, Time-Warner Cable, AT&T, Vonage, Packet8 et al. Their
methodology seems sound. Their conclusion is that retail VOIP services
don't yet match the PSTN for reliability &

Asterisk as Voicemail Server for Option 61c?
Looks like we will be forced to make a move on our voicemail system as
Nortel has declared Meridian Mail an end of life product. Frustrating
thing is that it would seem their only reason for it is so they can
force our hand to move to Call Pilot.
Is there any documentation and feedback out there of how people have
used Asterisk as a voicemail system for a legacy PBX? We've got about

Is Voice Pulse Connect good ?
Hi,
I am thinking of signing up with voice pulse connect to connect to my
asterisk server and using it as a regular line. Is it good? Or should I go
with vonage or others ?

Asterisk for home office
I apoligize in advance for this newbie question on what I perceive as
a mostly advanced level list... I did some searching, but would like
some of your expert opinions.
I'm building an asterisk server to be used in the home, both to learn,
and as proof of concept of applying this solution in a home. To keep
costs down, I'm considering one X100P ($25 ebay clone) card to connect

VoIP service through Asterisk?
Greetings. I did some digging with Google, the wiki, and on the
archives, but didn't find a recent conclusive answer. If this is
answered in the wiki or archives somewhere, please point me to it.
I'm in the process of setting up an Asterisk box for home use. I've got
a X100P card on the way. I've not decided what analog adapter(s) to get
yet. The only phone service to hook up

Anyone noticed Voipjet voice quality problems?
Dear all,
I've noticed some significant voice quality deterioration when calling US
landline via VoIPjet.com in the last week or so.
Before that the quality was pretty good.
Has anyone else experienced any voice quality problems with voipjet
recently?
Thanks,
Roman

PRI dialing IVR with inband DTMF
I have a client who is using a Shoretel PBX. This PBX apparently does not
send DTMF information OOB, but instead sends this inband via the B-channel.
This is traversing an Asterisk box via a PRI. The user calls the IVR
(1-800-CALL-DHL), receives audio, but is not able to present DTMF to engage
the IVR. With some light research it appears that the DSP is not activating
until the call is

Can I interoperate with public PSTN gateways ?
Apologies if this is an FAQ, I wasn't able to find an answer googling:
Will any of the public PSTN/VoIP gateway services (Vonage, Packet8 etc)
interoperate with * ?
I'd like to deploy a box which provides PBX service for analog handsets,
and handles inbound/outbound calls via both analog PSTN lines, and,
say Packet8 VoIP service. I understand that I can do this by connecting
the analog

SIP <--> PSTN gateways
So what are people using these days for SIP or IAX to PSTN gateways.
1. Do any of the standard companies (Packet8, Broadvox, Vonage, etc.) allow
you to use your own SIP device (phone or something like *) instead of the
interface hardware they usually provide?
2. What about latency and reliability?
3. Finally, do any of the providers deliver more than one call via SIP? In
otherwords, if

Vonage a provider?
I am new to the mailing list, but I am very interested in running my small
home business office phone system using Asterisk. However, Broadvoice, a
VoIP provider of choice based on my research, is not available in my area.
I currently use Vonage VoIP. Their website mentions nothing about being
able to link to Asterisk. I was wondering if any US subscribers have been
able to configure Vonage

voipjet anyone?
Is it me... or is it voipjet?
This week I've been trying various providers, just can't seem to get
voipjet to work.
I signed up with voipjet but so far can't get it to work inbound or out
bound.
I always get 'all circuits busy'.

Can Asterisk & Shoretel systems talk to each other?
We have a Shortel system at out main site. We're putting Asterisk
servers at several smaller remote sites. I know I'll be able to get the
Asterisk servers to talk to each other via IAX, but can they talk to the
Shoretel server? Basically, I'd like to be able to, from the main site
with Shoretel, dial an extension, and reach that phone at a remote site,
and vice-versa.

ShoreTel 210 MGCP phone drops calls with MGCP RSIP
I've got a ShoreTel 210 MGCP phone drops calls. My packet
capture indicates that the phone may be trying to renew its registration
with *, but reports Restart Method of Disconnected (frame 2), then *
seems to take that as a sign that it has lost the connection and closes
things down. The phone, meanwhile, seems to think it can continue the

DTMF tones from PSTN not reaching SIP device
Greetings, I am PRIs connected to a Cisco 36xx gateway, which in turn
connects to Asterisk via SIP. The problem I am having is that DTMF tones
originated on the PSTN side are not heard on the SIP device. On the other
hand, tones originating on the PSTN side are received by Asterisk when
talking to voicemail or an autoattendant.
>From the Cisco debug, I can see the Cisco sending NTE (RFC2833)
