Good provider of Polycom Phones (mostly for access to latest/greatest firmware)
Hi, I've ordered a few IP501s from PC Connection, basically since we have an account with them. I like the phones for what they do, and now would like establish a relationship with a reseller that can give us maintenance and access to the most current firmware. What are some good resellers out there? Regards, --- Gavin Adams VP of Technology Promisant (USA) Inc. Email: me@gavinadams.org

Accessto OpenBLAS
My IT people have set up R on a a Kubuntu box with an RWkard front end.? I have OpenBLAS set up as a shared BLAS but I'm not sure how to get R to see it.? A.3.1 of the installation docs talks about it but I'm not clear if I need a option on my startup line or if I need to find a config file.? The BLAS is is in: ? /usr/lib/openblas-base ? on my machine. I'm not sure how to confirm that

FW: Polycom 501 issue with latest firmware : sluggish keys
Somebody was helpful enough to give me the very latest release of Polycom's firmware (2.1.0). Unfortunately, I still get that issue. So I'm stuck asking again: Anybody ever got that? DND on a Polycom IP450
Only slightly asterisk related I suppose, but hoping someone has attempted this... I have an old installation with a bunch of IP501s, and one died. I replaced it with an IP450, and the user sorely misses his DND button. I hated those DND buttons anyway, as I couldn't control them centrally. I'd *like* to program one of his softkeys to send a *XX sequence to do DND on the

Polycom 501 issue with latest firmware : sluggish keys
Hi, I've upgraded a few Polycom 501 to SIP 2.0.3b (can't get 2.1.0 because of Polycom's firmware policy, but this is the "latest publicly available" from Polycom's web site). I've noticed that some keys get "sticky" though. Soft buttons for example (i.e. "end call") need to be pressed 2-3 times for them to react. I've downgraded to

Polycom Firmware -- Was: Asterisk 1.4 & Polycom buddy status
> I ran into this problem with an early batch of IP650s. Polycom's firmware > version 2.0.3b made this issue go away. Speaking of Polycom firmware, anyone have an up to date source for the stuff? The site I ordered from took down their FTP site that had it. :( -Kenneth

Remapping Polycom IP501 buttons
Hi, Just started using an asterisk-based PBX with Polycom IP501 phones. Am Fairly satisfied and am starting to get into FTP setup of the phones. Have figured out most things except for how button remapping works. In sip.cfg, I have this entry: <keys key.IP_500.31.function.prim="DoNotDisturb"></keys> This works as expected but if I try to change the remapping to any

Polycom 501 Firmware
Hi, I have sort of a strange problem. We just bought a few polycom 501 phones from our supplier, but they shipped them with the SIP firmware, though we need them in H323. Does anyone here know where one can get ahold of the H323 firmware. I tried going through Polycom's site directly and can't seem to find anything. Please let me know Thanks S. -------------- next part

Polycom 300 with latest 1.5.3 firmware not registering
Hello, I got 3 Polycom 300 phones, and upgraded to the latest firmware provided by the reseller. This is my first experience with Polycom and I cannot make them register in my Asterisk Box. I followed every advice I found (including separating [user] and [peer] in sip.conf. Using ethereal, I found that it tries to SUBSCRIBE to the asterisk box and it receives a 403 FORBIDDEN message. I

Polycom IP501 Endless Loop
I have a Polycom IP501 phone and have set it up to download the config from an FTP server, it did this once and now is in an endless loop of trying to contact the FTP server, failing, then rebooting. When I watch the FTP server logs it looks like the phone starts a session, ends it, starts it, ends it until the phone reboots. It is annoying like nothing I can describe! I have tried Windows 2003

Location of MeetMe Recordings
In Asterisk 1.2.4 is love being able to recording conferences. However, using the default variables, the files are being written to /var/lib/asterisk/sounds instead of /var/spool/asterisk/meetme. If I change MEETME_RECORDINGFILE variable to something different in works, bit I lose the ability to define CONFNO as part of the file name, which is handy when sorting for users to review. I call meetme

Polycom IP-600 phone review
Hello, After receiving and finally being able to configure my new Polycom IP 600 phone Here are my initial experiences: GOOD STUFF: - The sound is wonderful from both handset and speaker (711U) - The large multi-shade LCD screen is beautiful (for a phone) - The phone has an integrated Ethernet switch so you can connect a PC to it as a passthru - The AC adapter was included (small thing, but

Polycom IP 500 SIP bootrom and firmware upgrades
I am using version 1.4.1.0040 and 2.6.1.0003. I have read about newer versions out there, how can I get them? I'm having an intermittent issue regarding DHCP with one of my phones, and I recall when I loaded 1.4.1 on this one phone, it failed once, then it succeeded the second time. I am wondering if a firmware update will help. Or is there any known issues with Fedora Core 2 dhcpd and IP

Max number of files in OCFS2 file system
Hi All, Please I would like to know what the maximum number of files (limit) is for an OCFS2 file system created on a x86_64 system with default options on a 900GB LUN. The system specs are listed below. It was noticed that at some point any attempt to create an additional file on the file system hangs the session and hangs accessto the file system as well. Attempts to start the application

OT: Polycom BootRom 3.1.3 and vsftpd 2.0.3 WARNING!!!
Hello everyone, Please forgive the exclamation points but I have been battling this one off and on for about four days now. Sorry for the cross post. It all started with a box of IP 501s. I contacted my reseller and obtained the latest BootRom and SIP firmware. Unzipped, configured, copied over to my FTP server (running AstLinux, of course). The phone booted, so far so good. Updated

re: Polycom IP501 with Asterisk - distinctive ring
The answer is yes, I think, but I don't recall precisely how off the top of my head, and I'm walking out the door in a moment. The phone will hold more than a dozen distinct ring tones which you can create for yourself, and you can have asterisk direct it to use a ring tone independently of line appearance. The most direct way would be with the SIP Alert-Info field, but the phone itself
