Voicemail -- newbie question
Hi, all I am trying to set up voicemail. I've done it to the point where I can leave messages. How do I retrieve them? Actually I have few questions: 1. I want voice mail to be available at certain extension, say 100. How do I set it up so all users can call this number and get to their respective mailboxes. 2. How do I let users to create their own voicemail passwords from the phone? 3.

OT: PC network down if plugged in Polycom IP600
Hi all, I dont know why, but if I plug my PC inside the 'PC' slot on my polycom, this is not working. (Polycom IP600 is online on the net.) I'm using normal network cables. (I see jumpers behind the phone... do I need to play arround with that?) Any help would be appreciated. -- Alexandre Leclerc

Polycom configs?
I have a number of Polycom phones to setup with my * server. For my initial few phones I hand wrote configs. Does anyone here who uses Polycom phones have some form of management utility for automating their setup? Polycom IP600 - Worth the extra $$
Hello, I am looking at the Polycom phones. The ip600 has a very nice screen, is that the only real advantage over the ip500 and ip300.. Is it worth the extra dollars? Seting up for afirst time -- can not call
Hi, all I am setting up Asterisk for the first time and have some problems. Setup is very simple -- Astersik box and two Polycom SP300 phones. I will add bells and whistles as I go, at the moment things are very simple. No TFTP servers, so phones run with their default configuration. I set up IP addresses, netmask and gateway IPs manually on the phones. Now, I have read of problems with

How to adjust codec voice detection? Changin RxGain does not help me...
Hi, Problem: When talking to someone (from pstn) and this person is not talking loud, the voice is cut by Asterisk. I tried increase RxGain but it changed nothing (was talking louder but voice still cut.) I use XLite as soft phone. I think this is probably a codec setting... but how do I check that on server side? I just don't know what to do. All works fine (asteriskathome) but I always

Polycom IP 600
I am getting ready to install Asterisk and I was looking into the Polycom IP600 phones. I spoke with Polycom sales to verify the multiple line appearance and they said it would work. More specifically, if lines 1-3 all contain the same SIP registration info, the Polycom will only send out 1 SIP registration to the server and then handle the calls ringing on multiple lines. I was wondering if

Remote employees using Polycom 501 lose ability to receive incoming calls after few minutes.
Hello, Here is a breakdown of the issue I am experiencing. I have three remote employees, in various states, who have Polycom 501 phones. They are unable to receive incoming calls after a few minutes of the phones being plugged in. They work immediately after being plugged in, but they lose the ability shortly thereafter. They can always make outbound calls, but only to real phone numbers, not

Polycom and CallerID
I'm having a problem with the callerID that the polycom IP600 phones are displaying. I would like to modify the CIDName and leave CIDNumber as exactly what the phone call came in as(provided they aren't hiding callerID). Most of the calls will be going to the queue, but a few will go directly to the SIP phones. I've done a various combinations of using SetCallerID(),

Polycom IP600 - no ring?
Have a strange problem... When a C7960 calls the Polycom ip600, the ip600's first line button blinks, the ip600 display shows the proper callerid, but the phone does not ring at all. If I call the same ip600 from a bt102, the ip600 rings properly. If I call the same ip600 from another C7960, the ip600 rings properly. All phones and asterisk are on the same lan within a few feet. Asterisk and Polycom Soundpoint IP600
This Polycom phone seems to be one of the best on the market for sound quality and features. I have seen on the list that some people have gotten the IP 600 to work with Asterisk. Does anyone have the details of how to get this working i.e. XML phone config files, and any thing else I might need to know. Thank You, Chad Cowan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

fwd on busy when calling multiple extensions at once
Hi, I am setting up a dispatch center where will have 4 call takers, all with Polycom IP 600 Sip phones. Each phone will be setup with 6 extensions each. When a new call comes in, the first extension on all the phones will ring. This works fine, the problem is when one of the dispatchers is already using her first extension and another call comes in. What happens now is that the remaining 3

Polycom vs. Cisco IP Phones
Hi all, I am working on building a new VoIP PBX. Looking at the current market for phones it seems my best "enterprise" options are the Cisco and Polycom phones. I have some experiance with the Cisco 7940G, but the process of flashing the phone with the SIP firmware left a bad taste in my mouth (not to mention the added expense for the phone). What is the general consensis about

Polycom Buddies in 1.6.6
All, Slightly off topic. Polycom released their SIP software version 1.6.6 for their phones recently. I was under the impression that this release fixed a previous limitation where the phones would only watch 7 buddies, ie send 7 sip subscriptions to Asterisk. I have configured a phone directory to watch 30 or so appearances, and it still seems to only be sending 7 subscriptions to Asterisk.

Remotely dialing calls from a polycom phone
I have a Polycom IP600 serving as a receptionist phone. We developed a call manager via c/gtk that runs on a touchpad. It allows them to transfer calls, transfer to voicemail, page, etc. The problem is this: When paging another phone from the touchpad, I have to open a channel to the receptionist phone. This rings the receptionist phone. When she picks up, it then pages the desired person. This is
