SIP behind NAT to pub Asterisk, best solution?
What is the best solution? I dont want to have modify firewall's at all or
do port fowarding. Ideally I would like a solution that with either a
softphone or wireless hardphone one could connect via friends, family, or
hotspots without reconfiguring their devices.
What are people using? STUN? SER?
Thanks in advance!

R-squared with Intercept set to 0 (zero) for linear regression in R is incorrect
Hi,
I have been using lm in R to do a linear regression and find the slope
coefficients and value for R-squared. The R-squared value reported by R
(R^2 = 0.9558) is very different than the R-squared value when I use the
same equation in Exce (R^2 = 0.328). I manually computed R-squared and the
Excel value is correct. I show my code for the determination of R^2 in R.
When I do not set 0 as the

Problems with print driver information stored in ntprinters.tdb
Hi Guys,
I've have an issue (or perhaps more accurately a feature) with my
production system running Samba 3.0.24 (Cups 1.2.9). We do not make use
of server side print drivers, the reason for this is below. We therefore
install drivers manually on our client systems. The issue that has
arisen lately is that when a printer is added to a client workstation,
Samba somehow picks up the name of

Testers needed for VoIP router solution
Hi all,
We have put together a firmware for a range of inexpensive routers.
It has been configured to provide optimum VoIP performance.
We have internally tested it for number of months and it looks very good.
You should be able to run it easily with 20+ phones on local network ( we
still did not hit the upper limit ) assuming that you have bandwidth.
Your VoIP will get prioritized over other

Alpha channel in colorRamp() and colorRampPalette()
Hi all,
I had the need to create a colorbar considering the alpha channel of the colors, but colorRamp() and colorRampPalette() ignored the alpha argument in rgb(). So I performed some minor modifs. in their codes, as to support the interpolation using the alpha channel.
I guess that those simple modifications might be useful for other people, so perhaps it would be worth to add them to

VOIP Deployment Concerns
Before I got into my question for the day I'd like to applaud all the
helpful folks and time spent behind the asterisk project to get it where
it is today. Great work and between this list, the doc list and the irc
channel it's been a pleasure to deal with people willing to help others
when and if they can.
I will be moving in a few months and I'm concerned as to what kind of

Any suggestions for something with good voice quality and not much

How can I use my regular phones with Asterisk running on my Linksys WRT54G router?
Ok, I've done some more research and I don't think I want an FXO box...
What I'd like to do is use BroadVoice (with their BYOD plan) and then
run Asterisk on my WRT54G router. I'd also like to use my regular home
phones without having to use a special "SIP" phone... (eg. I like my
Vtech normal cordless phones)
What do I need to buy to get this working? It sounds like I

Help! - Double NAT issue
Hi folks.
Please don't flame me but I've been googling around for days, read a
tremendous amount, tried everything, and still no go.
This is most definitely a typical newbie question. - I sure hope there's
somebody(s) out there who'll humble themselves to help me out.
I've set up an 'out of the box' basic Asterisk server running on Slackware
Linux. - It basically

7960 Dynamic DNS?
Hello everyone....
Searching the archives and google always comes up with entries regarding
the "dyn" dns option in the 7960, but I can't find answers to my
specific question....
My 7960 is connected via cable modem and is NAT'ed (everything is
working fine). On the 7960 under SIP configuration\NAT Address I have
the public IP of my cable connection. Comcast gives me a

Slashdot on WRT54G
Did anyone see the article?
It''s the first time I really noticed that these little Linksys routers
are such a fully fledged linux machine with a decent processor and a
replacable firmware. I am now itching to get one to replace the
multipurpose firewall desktop machine.
Has anyone experimented with the current state of the firmware and how
advanced you can get with tc rules? For

Cable Modem and Bridging
I''m not subscribed to the users list but I''ve been reading the archives. The
OP should NOT try using bridging with either FC 3 or FC 4 at this time
because the combination of Netfilter and bridging is currently broken in the
kernel''s included with those distros (as reported in another thread on the
list).
