Cisco Support for 7940, Is this Right?
Hi all, Happy Wednesday! Got a 7940G off eBay to tinker with and, per the wiki, contacted Cisco about a service contract. Being just little ol' me, they won't deal directly and blew me off (I hate dealing with Cisco, Nortel, etc as a small-business person...) Again per the wiki, I hit CDW.com and found CON-SNT-CP7960 for $9.14. Looking for support for the 7940 (not 7960), I just

Cisco 7960 Support Products
I just tried to order the CON-SNT-CP7960 part from CDW. This is the ~$8 1yr support contract that's supposed to give access to the Cisco download site for firmware for the 7960 . wellll, I got a call from CDW saying that Cisco wouldn't authorize them to sell that product to me. The sales rep conferenced me in with the CDW Cisco person and he explained that CON-SNT-CP7960 is an

Cisco Support Agreements
Hey all, I am trying to get the Cisco SIP image loaded on my new 7960. The Wiki and several emails in the list archives say the cost is approx. $8.50 per phone per year. The problem I have is the Cisco is giving me part number CON-SNT-PKG1 which costs $90.00. I believe this covers phone support as well. I don't want the phone support, only the software. Does anyone have the part number for

TFTP Server
G'Day All, Can anyone give me some direction in setting up the TFTP server on my RadHat ES3 box? I did quite a bit of reading, but I think I am more unsure now than before. I found the information nebulous. TFTP is already installed. I am trying to determine where the root directory for the tftp services is located so I can copy the CISCO 7960 firmware files onto it. Thanks.... Ferg

shorewall dynamic zones confusion
Hi, I''ve been successfully using shorewall in our K12 school since the 2.x days initially on Mandrake and now on Debian. Because of that my config has got quite complicated. The firewall has a working MultiISP setup with four interfaces (I''ve renamed them with udev to easy their identification): lan-if, dmz-if, snt-if and dnt-if (one of the providers (the one on dnt-if) is a DSL

7960 Not Picking up new firmware.
G'Day All. So I got the TFTP server all set up -thanks to much help from this list- the 7960 found it and updated to SIP the first firmware P0S30200. What I am now trying to do is upgrate through all the versions, as recommended, to the latest version, P003-07-3-00. I thought this would be accomplished by simply changing the sole line in the OS79XX.TXT file to P0S30203 and reboot the phone.

session data and user stories
hello there, i have been trying my hand at this rbehave material, specifically in terms of integration testing a rails application, and i am curious about the most friendly way to deal with session data. currently, the only way i have found to simulate a session is to open a session and refer to everything afterward via the @session variable stored after open_session. it seems to be workable,

Using a Cisco 7960G
Is anyone using the subject phone without the proprietary call setup equipment? How do you configure this phone to use the * pbx? I am hoping to go out and buy a couple of phones but the dealer here says I need to spend another $15K or so for the call manager equipment. slow slow slow
I find apps running in wine are unbearably slow. In particular - HTML-Kit by Chami. I really like this editor on NT at work, I want to use it at home on my FreeBSD box. It works in wine, just very very slowly. I do not have a windows partition. I'm running wine by itself. Any suggestions on ways to get speedier results? -- Chip

Generalized cumsum?
Is there anything like cumsum and cumprod but which allows you to apply an arbitrary function instead of sum and product? In other words, I want a function cumfunc(x, f) that returns a vector, so that for all n up to the length of x cumapply(x,f)[n] = f(x[1:n]) This would give cumsum and cumprod as special cases when f=sum or f=prod. I could write such a function, but I can't see

Pairwise n for large correlation tables?
Hello, I'm using a very large data set (n > 100,000 for 7 columns), for which I'm pretty happy dealing with pairwise-deleted correlations to populate my correlation table. E.g., a <- cor(cbind(col1, col2, col3),use="pairwise.complete.obs") ...however, I am interested in the number of cases used to compute each cell of the correlation table. I am unable to find such a

how to swap CTRL and Caps Lock in console mode
Hi ALL, I am not able to find the file which controls the keyboard mapping. I would like to swap CTRL and Caps Lock keys. NO, thhere is no problem with X11. That part was easy to fix. I've commented out one line in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I would like to swap the keys in __console__ mode YES, I've modified the file /lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/us.map.gz It did not make any difference.
