Bristuff 0.20RC3 loses connectivity after short line interruption?
I installed bristuff0.20-RC3 (which includes * 1.0.3 stable)
It works fine until I disconnect the phone jack for the ISDN line. Even
after plug it back in asterisk still reports that it could not create a
zap channel when I try to dial out and the line gives an engaged tone when
I try to dial.
Re-starting asterisk doesn't solve this, I have to stop asterisk, unload
the modules, reload

chan_capi or chan_mISDN vs bristuff
Hi list!
I'm currently using a HFC-S card for my ISDN BRI line with bristuff. The
instability is driving me crazy however.
I'm having continuous problems where inbound calls will not work after
some time of operation (the number then appears as not in use to the
caller) or also outbound calls do not work.
The solution is to unload the modules, stop asterisk, re-load the modules

sip <-> oh323 / real-time / g729 - one way audio
Hi,
I am using real-time, oh-0.7.2, G729
Calling from (SIP)UA through asterisk towards h323 devices or the other way
round, I get only one-way audio.
Called party can only talk, caller can only listen.
Calling SIP to SIP is ok.
All devices are on official IP addresses.
(no NAT)

dropping extra frame..already have it????
We have one Swissvoice IP10S running SIP firmware. Recently, I've been
getting these messages:
Mar 1 13:59:44 NOTICE[20933]: frame.c:128 ast_smoother_feed: Dropping extra
frame of G.729 since we already have a VAD frame at the end
Any clues off the bat? I'm still researching other stuff..

florz patch for bristuff breaks compile on x86_64?
After upgrading a CentOS 3.x box to CentOS 4.1 (both x86_64 with an
Athlon64) I also wanted to get the latest bristuff. Unfortunately
bristuff without florz causes the box to kernel panic within hours
(console will complain about bad frame received something).
It seems however that the florz patch will not work for x86_64 arch.
Bristuff -0.2.0-RC8j compiles fine without the florz patch, but

Zaptel ISDN BRI settings for The Netherlands KPN
Hi list!
I am installing an * box that will be installed on a site with KPN BRI
ISDN in The Netherlands. I am using bristuff fron Junghanns.
Does anybody know the correct settings for this? I will not have internet
access there which makes it harder to google around on location.
switchtype = euroisdn
is pretty obvious but what about these settings:
signalling = bri_cpe_ptmp
; p2p TE mode

Cisco gateways and hairpinning
Hello:
Has anyone on this list had to configure hairpinning on a Cisco
gateway running IOS 12.2 or 12.3 and using a PRI for connectivity
to the PSTN? If so could you tell me how it is done? I'm told this
is the source of my call transfer problems and yet I cannot find
clear instructions for how the configuration is done.
Thanks,Steve

Callgroup with bristuff ISDN?
Hi list!
I'm still trying to figure out about the groups in asterisk.
If I understand correctly, if you assign a certain group number and you
assign the same call group number to a sip device the device will reing
even though you did not specifically specify it in extension.conf?
How will this work for ISDN BRI/PRI?
I don't want some extensions to get all calls from the BRI/PRI, just

Bristuffed Asterisk 1.0.3 hfc-s card doesn't work
I hva ean HFC-S card in a box that I'm trying to get to work with
bristuffed Asterisk 1.0.3. The box is an Athlon64 running a RHEL rebuild
with a plain vanilla 2.6.10 kernel. I tried both APIC and NOAPIC mode.
The installation went ok and does give output that seems correct

OT: carrying a router, firewall, switch, server, some phones with me on flight to Europe
Dear Fellow *-ers,
First, you guys are fantastic. Keep fighting the good fight.
Second, it sounds like comments in the code are coming, which sounds
welcome by all, even those of us who couldn't code their way out of a
papersack, but who need to read the source.
Last, I might be traveling to Europe (from US) & want to tow along
hardware & haven't done this before & was

Red Alarm TE110P
Hi!
I'm trying to setup a Wildcard TE110P with a PRI in The Netherlands.
I get a Red Alarm on the line.
Is there any way of debugging this? I've tried some configs that should
work but without success. Is there any way of telling if the cabling is
correct or what else the problem could be?
Thanks!!

Difference between Snom 190 & Elmeg 290?
Hi list!
While looking for the Snom 190 I found another phone, the Elmeg IP 290
(www.elmeg.de).
Looking at the pictures & the specs they seem to be very similar beasts
but the firmware is supposedly not interchangeable.
Does anyone know the difference between the 2, do they work with Asterisk?
The weird thing is that Elmeg has similar phones with the Snom look but
they are ISDN only (no

Snom firmwares suck
Most people seem quite positive about Snom phones, I cannot share this
opinion.
The displays are dying quite often, and firmware is buggy. I have tried
every firmware from 4.5 up to 5.x and 6.04 but keep having problems with
phones locking up or rebooting during an ongoing conversation.
REALLY annoying for a phone that is advertised / targeted as a business
class phone

Bristuff-0.2.0-RC5 florz patched weird error and no outgoing calls?
I applied the florz patch but my problems remain. Now I get all sorts
of weird errors on the console and I cannot make outgoing calls. Incoming
calls work as expected. I am using a single HFC-S card with BRI.
Any clue what these errors below are?

Can zaphfc (bristuff) do caller id?
Caller id is not in the configs that are supplied with zaphfc from

Is it possible to use callerid with zaphfc/bristuff?

Best VPN server for * and woad warriors using windows?
Hi list!
I'm sure the topic has been discussed but I could not find what I was
looking for.
What would be the best / easiest VPN software solution. I would like to
install vpn software on the * server for roadwarriors to connect to with
laptops running windows. Ideally the vpn solution will not require any
additional software on the client side but will use IPSEC.

zaphfc no callerid incoming to SIP phone but visible in logfile
Hello,
I've added a ZAPHFC card to my CAPI based system. Calls coming in via
ZAPHFC do not forward the caller id to the SIP phones. Calls coming in
via CAPI do forward the caller id to the SIP phones.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
The (hopefully relevant) conf file excerpts are:

Bristuff and incoming call problems
Hi list!
I have some strange problems with Asterisk 1.0.5-BRIstuffed-0.2.0-RC5.
Very regularly asterisk seems to lose connectivity with the ISDN line. If
you try to call in you get the information tone that the number is not in
use. Outbound calls do stil work however. Unloading the modules and
reloading them and start/stop asterisk will solve the problem.
Another problem that occurs

context=devel_in
disallow=all
allow=alaw

Re-write callerid?
Is it possible to rewrite caller id's?
I would like to have sip phones appear by their local cid
(like Henk <208>) but when they call out using the PRI I would like their
full DID (MSN) to appear (like 0031201234567)
I could ofcourse set callerid to the main phonenumber but surely there
must be a better solution?
Thanks!!
