Interfacing pri card to legacy pbx
Hi guys,
Can I use a Sangoma a101 to interface a legacy pbx to an Asterisk server?
The pbx doesn't have sip and I want to come in off of a sip trunk and
interface with the older system.
I know I can use a pri card to hook in to the phone network, but can I use
this same card to feed back the signaling as if I were the phone company to
the older system?
Thanks,
Tom

PRI Setup
Heh guys, I just received a T400 card, I've been using a T100 for a
little while, and it works fine when using a raw channelized T1. I'm
relocating my asterisk machine, and PRI's will only be available,
haven't found any good config info for PRI's, can someone point me to
PRI config info, or let me know what changes I need to make in order to
bring them up, I imagine,

We have been pretty much able to solve our echo problems, except for
the primary mode in which we desire to operate our system.

ISDN, BRI, PRI, voice over IP, and more...
Hi,
I am thinking of starting a project at Work to pilot to use of Astrisk
and VOIP, and would like to tie in several projects together.
Currently we are looking at purchasing an ISDN and H.323 based video
conferencing system from Polycom. It suggests the use of 3-4 BRI lines
(ie 6-8 B channels, but in the form of individual BRIs). We need ISDN
for the video conferencing to communicate with

PRI dead in USA?
Hi-
Because a majority of my customers are in Europe, I've gotten quite used to
working with ISDN (PRI) and BRI on a regular basis. Recently one of my
customers asked me if I could terminate a few lines locally here in the USA
(California), so I called up SBC to enquire as to how much it would cost to
install a BRI here.
Although the rates were reasonable (except the installation), I got

What type of PRI setup is best
I am having my colo set up 2 PRI's for my new asterisk implementation. They
asked the following...
##SNIP##
What type (NI2, NTI, 4ESS, or 5ESS) and whether they want to be USER or
NETWORK.
If the equipment is flexible, NI2, with us as NETWORK is preferred.
##SNIP##
We are using a digium quad span T1 card. What is the recommended setup?

T1 to T1 on asterisk?
Hi all,
To solve my need for dial in modems, I've hit upon an idea: buy a
used T1 "analog" modem bank like a Lucent Portmaster that takes
in a T1 and provides several 56K modems. This is overkill for a
lightly used dial in service, but the prices of these boxes is so
cheap (~$300) with ISPs going away from dial in service that it
makes sense.
This is how I imagine it would work:

Creating an IAX/SIP-to-ISDN PRI gateway
Hi all,
I'd like to setup a really lean Asterisk installation that essentially has a full ISDN PRI (AT&T, T1, 23 B-chans, 1 D-chan, BZ8S, 5ESS, National dialplan) on a Digium TE207P adapter that all it does is convert the ISDN channels to SIP/IAX channels. Then I would add this Asterisk 'gateway' as a provider on one (or many) Asterisk systems on the back.
With such a config I

Another PRI based question
In speaking to the representative at Verizon, we came to the conclusion
that DID numbers were not the correct solution; however we were told by
Verizon that they could do something called assign individual numbers to
the PRI. What this would in effect do is give us an additional phone
number that we would like to route to a specific extension; however unlike
the DID number, it would not be

Semi-OT: Splitting a PRI into two PRI's?
Hey all,
I've got a PRI used for data calls right now, terminated in a MAX 4000.
We're only using around 12 channels on average and 16 max, so I'd like to
split off the remaining channels to terminate in an Asterisk box.
Does anyone know of a device that'll take a PRI in, and spit out two PRI's
that share the channels? Also need to be able to do some sort of call
routing so

AT&T PRI Install - What is outpulsed?
Hey All,
AT&T is installing a PRI in a couple weeks and while I've been doing
homework on PRI's for the last few weeks there's something I'm still
confused about. After being asked how many digits I wanted them to send
us (10) was how many digits will you outpulse to us, 4, 7 or 10? I asked
her what that meant and all I got was the question repeated. Do any of

911 and ISDN PRI
Does asterisk support this? I have a location that I planned to only put a
PRI line, but testing 911 (I called them first), I just get a hangup. Does
911 normally work over a PRI line? Anything special I have to setup in
asterisk?

No Caller ID Name PRI NI2.
Okay, now I am really confused. I have two PRI's coming in from two
different Carriers (QWEST and ELI), both of them are supposed to be setup to
pass name and number on incoming calls. Problem that I am having is that I
am not receiving inbound caller id name on either PRI, the only thing that
both carriers have in common is that I am terminating into a DMS switch at
the carrier.

PRI Bridging and Recording
Hi All
Does anyone have any ideas around what processing power is needed when
bridging PRI channels and recording?
I am not sure how the bridging takes place with and without recording?
I basically have a situation like this:
Telko <----> Asterisk <-----> Legacy PBX
Where the lines are PRI's between Telko and Asterisk and Asterisk and
the Legacy PBX.
At what level does

PRI or Trunk monitoring
Did someone monitor the PRI's or trunks some way?
I tried with MRTG and Andrea Fino module but it never worked for me.
Any other experience? I want to track the use of my PRI's and trunks using
graphical as MRTG does each 5 minute, day, week & Year.
But the option of the 5 Minutes I don't think is usefull, We need something
more realtime.

Caller ID Presentment on PRI...
Hey folks,
I have a T100P card with a PRI; when doing outbound dialing over the PRI,
I can use SetCIDNum(2024561414|a) to force caller ID to display as "The
White House" on a land line. This is apparently done as a reverse lookup
by Verizon, as I do not hand the PRI the words "The White House" --
202-456-1414 is an actual White House number.
Using SetCIDName("Flying

Ordering a Voice PRI for Asterisk
We are in the process of ordering a Voice PRI to plug into Asterisk. Of
course we will be buying a card from Digium for this.
Question is this, there seem to be MANY options technically when ordering
this PRI (in the US) but since this is the first time ordering a voice
circuit I am clueless as to what options we need.
Any clues would be helpful or maybe something has already been written

PRI calls to Automated Attendants Dropped
I have 2 * boxes.
1 has 2 PRI's from the Telco, and a PRI to the 2nd *
The other has ZAP channels to Channelbanks for endusers.
If someone on the second box calls a Toll Free number (it probably
doesn't matter that it is toll free) that is auto answered by an auto
attendant (QVC, a Bank, the Airlines, Credit Card Companies....) then
the call gets dropped with in a couple of seconds of
