Snom phones?
Hi, everyone: I'm in the processing of deciding what IP phones we should use with our Asterisk server, and I wanted to get feedback from the user community on the quality, reliability and ease of operation of Snom phones. What do you have to say about these phones? Are there other phones you'd suggest along with or instead of Snom? Thanks, -Stephen-

Echo's and dropped calls
Hi all, I have a problem with echo and silence in the middle of calls. the echo problem is that in the first 5 to 10 seconds of a call there is echo on the sip side but not on the PSTN side, also the echo will randomly come back in the call sometimes, I'd say 3 out of 10 calls. the other problem I have is that sometimes ( like maybe 4 times a day ) we will be talking to PSTN calls and one

hints lost after reload
We are running * 1.0 and have 6 snom 200's and one snom 220. the line hints work until I issue a reload command and then the snom hints stop working. I can re-create this scenario on 2 systems and with snom 190's also. is there a way to fix this? the only solution I can come up with is to reboot the phones. Thanks in advance, Justin

SNOM 100 vs SNOM 200??
Hi, I have more or less decided to do with the SNOM phones for the next stage of testing with Asterisk becasue they seem to be the best value for money and have support for the GSM codec and easy upgrades.. But now I have to decied wheather to get the 100 or 200 and if its the 200 then I need to have some justification for the extra cost.. Can someone who knows these 2 phones tell me what the

Snom 360 and firmware 4.0 problem
I have a pair of snom 360s at a customer and they were giving me Low Memory errors. The distributor suggested updating the firmware. I did that, to the one just below 4.0 (which wasn't released yet). One of the phones is still giving the Low Memory error every 3-4 days. The other one had a broken display that was just RMA'd, so it' hasn't been up long enough to know if the

Snom 200 Programmable Keys
I would like to use one of my Snom 200's 5 programmable keys to park calls. I am using image SIP 2.04g. I have tried a variety of combinations and have come to the conclusion that: 1) On the Key Mappings administration page, I must select the "Transfer" under the "Break Keys" option box to be able to successfully transfer calls using the "Transfer" button. 2)

Pushing new firmware to Snom 190
Anyone know how I can push a firmware update to a Snom 190 without using DHCP? In the web interface, I specify a path to the Snom firmware, and it works, except I have to physically press OK to get the update to download. I need to do it remotely...

SNOM IAX image
Hello. I've been going through the archives, but can't discern the state or future direction of IAX on the SNOM100. The most recent image appears to be from September 2002. There was a message on this list stating that SNOM was coming to visit Digium last April with the intention of adding IAX support themselves. For a while there was reference to the I100E on the asterisk and/or

Snom phones recommended firmware
We're using firmware 7.3.30 on an installation of Snom 300 phones. Should we stick with it, or do the newer firmwares have better support for Asterisk? Thanks John

MWI indicator HINT on Snom thru IAX?
I have many remote locations that dial into a central server to retrieve voicemail via IAX. Outbound calls are handled as SIP calls from a Snom to a local (to them) Asterisk server that dials the main server thru IAX. I have trained them to check their voicemail via the emailed WAV file, however some of them are, how shall I put it, idiots*, and insist that they *have* to have the MWI indicator

Snom firmwares suck
Most people seem quite positive about Snom phones, I cannot share this opinion. The displays are dying quite often, and firmware is buggy. I have tried every firmware from 4.5 up to 5.x and 6.04 but keep having problems with phones locking up or rebooting during an ongoing conversation. REALLY annoying for a phone that is advertised / targeted as a business class phone

Snom firmwares suck <--additional datapoint to consider
We have a large install of 360's running rev 4.1 with zero problems. I did another, smaller install couple weeks ago with 40 360's running rev 5.3. In both cases, the install was identical, same Asterisk version, same dialplan, everything the same except the differences were: 1. Different firmware rev 2. Different physical LAN Guess what? On the smaller install, lockups and reboots.

Snom-320 badly garbled audio
Hello, I just bought a Snom-320 from ATAComm. I plugged it into my LAN, registered it with *, etc. All my other SIP gear is Sipura and works fine, both on the LAN and over the Internet. The new Snom seems like it can't process the audio from the handset mic. A steady tone is garbled, even on the LAN. I've contacted ATAComm, Snom and the company representing Snom in the US. So

SNOM 190 '486/Busy here' after upgrade to firmware 3.60s
Looks like this phone has redirection or DND set. Anything on the display? If it still a mystery send us the settings of the phone, then it should become clear. BTW if you have a snom trouble ticket, you can also go to http://www.snom.com/onlinesupport.html (scroll down to set up an account). Which IP Phones will work with non-Asterisk PBX systems too?
Hi everybody, One of my customers wants to buy IP Phones and Asterisk solution, but his requirement is if he'll not be happy with Asterisk, his phones should be able to work with other IP PBX systems as well, so that he doesn't have to buy new phones again. After all IP Phones is the main investment. He'll most probably go with Nortel IP PBX system if he'll be not satisfied with

distinctive ring on SNOM 200
Hi, I'm trying to set up my SNOM 200 with extensions, with different ringtones - but it doesn't seem to work. I've defined two extensions for it in Asterisk and in the SNOM 200 configuration. In the SNOM home>settings>SIP>Lines config page, I have set the ringer for the first extension to "ringer1", and "ringer6" for the second. In
