Upgrading Samba
I am in the process of planning for a samba upgrade. The current version
of Samba (2.2.8a) runs on a Sunfire 280R with Solaris 8. The intended
new platform is a sunfire V240 with Solaris 9 as the OS. The new version of
Samba will be Samba-3.0.10. Please note that the Samba server will be a
member of a domain.
I've read Samba-3 by Example, Chapter 8 which describes to the process of

Samba 3 Upgrade Questions
Hi all,
Samba 2.2.8a is currently running on Solaris 8 as a member of a domain. For
testing purposes I have installed Samba 3.0.10 on a test server (Solaris 9)
a a member of a Workgroup.
In a couple of weeks we will be upgrading our production server to Solaris 9
and are planning on doing a fresh install of Samba 3.0.10 at the same time.
I will be saving the following files to be restored after

samba & ACL questions
Greetings,
I seem to have Samba+AD+ACL's working on a RH ES4 server; however, I'm
looking for clarification in regard to how the ACL's differ between
windows and samba... or if they differ?
With windows ACL's, I can give out user permission traverse directory,
but not read its contents. Then I can give said user more permission to
a sub folders contents. Meaning: I

samba inconsistent printing behavior
Hello all. I've set up a Samba server on a Sun E280 box running Solaris 8. The
server is part of a domain. I am having some problems printing. I can setup
the printers on the Windows NT workstations using the Add Printer wizard.
However, when I try to print I get inconsistent results. After installing the
printer the workstation has to be restarted (sometimes more than once) before

Re: [advocacy] current tshirt/slogan submissions
Two notes on my T-shirt design...
Had I known there was an official logo/font for the Ogg Vorbis and Xiph I
would have used it. Sorry if this causes any problems. :o)
#ifdef Stand_on_SoapBox
As for the phenomenon vs. standard I think I may want to explain. It seems
that whenever the media reports on Ogg (or ANY open source project for that
matter) they often use the word phenomenon to

Rbind-ing a list into one item
Hi,
I am doing the following:
1. I have a list of files.. Files1=list.files("some
directory",pattern="some pattern")
2. I define a list as res=vector("list", length(files1))
3. I read all the files into this list: res=lapply(files1, read.csv)
I now want to rowbind all the items in the list into one big mass (all
files have same number of columns). I tried

Ogg in my car
I hope this hasn't already been mentioned on the list or I'll kind of look
stupid...
The Ogg Developers may already be aware of this, but I thought this would
be news for most of the people who subscribe to this list. I saw this on
NewsForge where they referenced an article from MP3Newswire.net The article
is about Kenwood announcing a digital music system for cars that supports

Dovecot User Listing Error - getpwent() failed: Invalid Argument
This is bit of a longshot, but can you try applying
https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/63a74b9.patch and see if this helps?

I have no idea why it's returning invalid argument, maybe you need to
raise this as issue with glibc?
