[LLVMdev] whole program optimization examples?
Hello,
I was wondering if there is an example list somewhere of whole program
optimizations done by LLVM based compilers?
I'm only familiar with method-level optimizations, and I'm being told wpo
can deliver many great speedups.
My language is currently staticly typed JIT based and uses the JVM, and I
want to move it over to LLVM so that I can have options where it can be

...ly complicated. Using the Rd boilerplate seems much simpler
than trying to use raw latex.
I have looked under R's hood at Rdconv and would like to see if
I could make it work outside the R environment.
Any objections from the authors?
I intend to follow the spirit of the GNU license and will zing it
back to you after I've finished with it (if I need to make any
changes, that is).
Thanks. Once again, you are way ahead of me -- Tim

Network Computing Newsletter article...
Hey gang...
An SMB server comparison article just showed up at Network Computing.
http://www.networkcomputing.com/1104/1104f3.html
They compare three SMB servers including Samba 2.0.6 and we took
first place (barely). Zinged us on central administration. Compaq's
SMB server has central configuration and administration of multiple
servers, which they liked a lot, apparently.

Revisiting the rewriting
...it seems that the connection between mod_rewrite and
url_for and friends is pretty fuzzy for most people.
Hence, as we''ve talked about before, the rewriting of the url should be
pulled in-house. There has been a few suggestions on how to do this,
but I haven''t really felt the zing of someone nailing it spot on. I
haven''t even been able to myself, so don''t feel bad :)
But thankfully, we do have someone who can! I asked Dave Thomas to put
his thoughts into this and got this wonderful mail on a very nice
approach to it...
It should be said that we'...

SAMBA and Subnet Browsing
Hi, I have 3 Samba servers run Samba 2.0.7 on RH6.2, with Kernel 2.2.16-3.
Everything seems to be OK, except that my Win9x clients cannot see other
Win9x clients across the subnets.
Each server has 2 n/w cards installed, with IP Forwading enabled etc. If the
user knows the machine name, he can get access to the shared resources
across all 3 subnets, but using the n/w neighbourhood browser, shows

xen-3.0-x86_32 not supported by xen kernel
I build a DomU kernel on RHEL AS5.1. But when I boot this Guest DomU with the kernel, it gives me error message:
Error: (2, ''Invalid kernel'', ''xc_dom_compat_check: guest type xen-3.0-x86_32 not supported by xen kernel, sorry\n'')
Can someone give me any suggestion about this problem?
Thank you!
