Peculiar Samba permission denied error
...despite searching the internet, and a couple of samba books. Here
goes:
I'm running "Version 3.4.3-3.3.1-2341-SUSE-SL11.2" of Samba on OpenSUSE
11.2.
Here are some relevant excerpts from my smb.conf file:
[global]
...
security = ADS
...
winbind separator = +
...
log level = 2
...
[xdrives]
comment = X Drive Repository
path = /share/samba/domain/home
browseable = yes
create mask = 0700
directory mask = 0700

mount command not working
Hello all,
When I execute the following command:
mount -t smbfs -o username=owner //server/c /mnt/x
I get:
Could not resolve mount point /mnt/Xdrive
Anyone have any idea why? The Windows machine
is server, and I'm trying to mount the c drive. There
is no password for the machine.

No subject

and I can see the SAMBA server
in my workgroup inside the network neighborhood.
When I double click on the server nothing happens for about 5 seconds and
then I get a
pop up error (text of error is):

I have a problem connecting to SAMBA from Windows/ME systems
(using samba--2.2.2 on Red hat Linux 7.1)
What I would like to know is - What can I change to get this to work properly?
SETUP
I have a simple network -
three Windows/ME systems and 1 Red Hat Linux 7.1 system all on the same
