Windows Genuine Advantage
If this is off subject or has already been addressed, sorry. "Windows
Genuine Advantage" looks like a move to make wine worthless. What I
mean is that M$ development API pushes windows developers' applications
to require you install IE 6.0 (soon 7.0) or later, making IE a key part
of wine. If IE requires Genuine MicroSoft (Windows Genuine Advantage)
to install, then most if not all applications will not work, making
WINE...

New to asterisk? RUN... don't walk.
As a newcomer to Asterisk, you will not be welcomed
with open arms. First, you will find almost no
documentation on it's features. Second, if you try to
ask questions, you will be flamed and pointed to
worthless how-tos and 'the wiki'. These worthless
documents can only be useful for explaining how things
work to those already in-the-know. Lastly, Asterisk
is so bug ridden, expect frequent segmentation faults.
With a community so 'anti-n00b', don't expect your
problems to be fixed an...

OK, so the migration starts and marks everything read-only. All the
pages now have read-only valuable data, or read-only worthless data in
the case that the page is in the free lists. In order for a page to
become non-worthless, it has to have a write done to it, which the
hypervisor obviously knows about.
With this mechanism, the hypervisor knows it can discard pages which

Evolution
...the Evolution mail agent, I could find no way to change
the outbound port from 25 to 587. I have to do this due to port 25
being blocked by the cable company. Thunderbird is no problem. Altho I
don't particularly use Evolution as a mail agent, there are times when I
might use it, but its worthless without being able to send mail out to
my server. Did I miss something in the options or setup or is there no
provisions for changing the smtp port to another port?

PJSIP Stun/ICE
...aving voted for pjsip over the listed alternatives back when
the plan to depricate chan_sip was first floated:
That should have excluded pj from the options. Which of course means
there were no reasonable options.
Can ari get around that bug?
Lack of full support for traversing nat makes pjsip worthless for a
large number of users. And the whole point of realtime is to have all
of the rt config fully dymanic.
If ari cannot avoid that limitation, chan_sip should get full ongoing
maintainance until pjsip is fixed.

Given a server with MySQL userdb/passwd and maildir storage, excluding unused
storages and authentications in configure options does save some memory and/or

I mean, is there a performance difference between this two versions of configure
parameters or is just a waste of time to exclude what is not used?

FXS with v.90 modem support?
I have a couple of devices that need an analog modem to communicate
outside of our Asterisk system. Most FXS gateways don't seem to
support this... I have a stack of Sipura 2002's that are, AFAIK,
worthless for this purpose.
I've heard that Digium's IAXy FXS will work with modems, but I can't
find any reference to that in their documentation. There is also the
VegaStream Vega 50 that claims to support v.90 on 8 FXS ports per
unit. Does anyone have experience with these devices, or c...

Is this a bug or a feature?

Pausing R
Hello,
I?m currently running a script that takes several days to complete, and
have therefore chosen to start two instances of R, each doing half the
work (since I have a two-processor machine). The problem is that this
renders my computer worthless to do other work on. So - is it possible
to pause one of the running R instances to do other things for a while,
and then starting it again without losing anything?
TL;DR I want to know if it is possible to pause a running script.
Thanks!

Welltech USA? and Wellgate Products?
Any feedback on this brand and in particular on doing business with
WelltechUSA?
I am looking to the Wellgate 3701A which is a 1FXS-1FXO arrangement. I
am hoping to replace the near worthless Grandstream HT-488.
This company is telling me that I need to wire $ directly into there
bank account. Most unusual.
Thanks for any feedback on this,

course, when the server was NT4, I had no problem. And if the XP boxes

Any advise would be appreciated, as I'm about to roof test the worthless
w2k server.

About multiple hosts with same hostname
...ll good, since it conforms to a standard naming scheme, so
it's easier to administrate.
However, when we go to our customers' sites, we often issue commands
like "ssh user at fw0", which of course gives out endless warnings about
MITM attacks, and essentially makes host keys worthless on the internal
customer networks.
It seems somewhat wrong to me. Isn't there some way to make OpenSSH save
the host key using the FQDN instead of just the local part? That would
solve this problem. Is there some other commonly accepted way of dealing
with this that doesn't involve mak...
