Dear friends: I am pleased to say that I successfully installed Internet Explorer Sp1 on my Linux (Scientific Linux 4.0, which is based on RHEL 4) using Wintools. After installing IE6, I thought installing WordView (the Word97 word view program) would be a snap. But instead Wintools failed to install it in several attempts. It started, downloaded the file and tried to install it. But at the end it informed me that the installation had failed. I checked the .wine directory just to make sure and, yes, Word...

I've downloaded and installed Microsoft's WordView to display .doc and .docx files using Wine. To convert them to .pdf files, I downloaded and installed cups-pdf so I can "print" .pdf files. "PDF" now appears as a printer in WordView running under Wine, but when I "print" to it, nothing shows up in Print Status....

Hello. I need to view some docx files that embed equations. I installed wordviewer, then FileformatConverters in wine 1.5.3. Both install ok, and I can view docx files, except that the equations don't appear at all. Does anybody have a solution? Thanks! -- F. Delente

I've just installed wine 20011004 using tarball. Wordview and word seem to run nicely, but I cant save edited files. Word claims that the file already exists or that it is RO or that there is not enough memory and/or disk space. Anyone knows a solution to this?? Thanks in advance! - Vode

Running with --debugmsg warn+all shows lots of 'warn:heap:HEAP_Is_Real_Arena Heap 0x40ef0000: block 0x300476d2 is not inside heap' messages. With wordview.exe wine grows too, but much more slower. Hi: new to wine, using it in PCLinuxOS (most of the users seems to be using ubuntu); installation seemed to go ok, but trying to run gave error message about was not fully installed, could not find DOCOBJ.DLL. I found the dll, downloaded it (in windows) copied to system32, but this did not change the error message. What next?

I've managed to install Internet Explorer 6 using wine-sidenet-config, since it won't work just by type "wine ie6setup.exe". Installation of the Microsoft Word viewer (97/2000) and Powerpoint viewer fail in the second dialog of the installation wizard. I'm using a Wine configuration (latest Codeweavers) without any original Windows DLLs. Does anyone have a working config with these two apps?
