Winfried,
Good question. Since Linux-2.2.* has hit the streets, I'm guessing there
may be wider interest in this sort of thing so I'm CC'ing my reply to

WinNY and Wine
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to figure out how to run Winny2b71 with wine-20050111-r1 on 2005.0 Gentoo Linux with kernel 2.6.11 r11 (I thought the version info might be helpful). The result is nothing-- no error message, nothing loads, nothing flashes. I have the program installed in /root/.wine/Apps/Winny2, and I use the appropriate ' wine "[path]...

dovecot with virtual and local users?
Hello,
I googled for a while in order to find a solution to make dovecot work with
local and virtual users.
My Mailserver setup looks like the following:
virtual users are stored in a mysql database, and having their Mailbox
here:
/srv/mail/$domain/$uid/
Local users have a Maildir folder in their home directory.
The only point i found in the web concerning this issue is this post here:

lustre quota problems
Hello,
I''ve several problems with quota on our testcluster:
When I set the quota for a person to a given value (e.g. the values which
are provided in the operations manual), I''m able to write exact the amount
which is set with setquota.
But when I delete the files(file) I''m not able to use this space again.
Here is what I''ve done in detail:

password encryption
Hi,
I enabled password encryption and NT clients were able to connect. However,
Windows 95 users were not able to connect any more unless they use smbpassword
to reset the password (it's not an acceptable solution for our environment). If
I used "update encrypted = yes", "encrypt passwords" then Windows 95 users can
login with NIS password but not for NT users. How to

username map
Hi,
I am trying to create a share for windows 98/NT users to browse without
creating unix password. I am able to join nt domain without problem. In
the usermap, I put:
nobody = *
to map everybody to nobody. But it's still asking for password. What's
the proper way to setup a browse location for windows users without the
hassle of adding each individual to the password files?
Thanks!

When I look at email files on my server (mdbox format), they contain

mails look cleaner. But older ones have problems.

HOWTO install CentOS 6 on low memory computer or virtual machine (even 192MB RAM)
I've managed to install CentOS 6 on a 192MB virtual machine using LiveCD
install-to-disk graphical method.
This is not normally possible because of:
- hard-coded minimum supported memory in Anaconda installer - it will
show a message "You do not have enough RAM to install CentOS Linux on
this machine" if you try or force you to use seriously crippled text
installer;
