call wating and call transfer
Recently I put callwaiting=yes in zapata.conf because customers want to speak to the operator in person, not leave her a voicemail, when she's busy with another caller. But now she can't transfer either of the calls (which she can do when there's only a single call). The operator has an analog phone connected to a TDM400B FXS line. The calls are coming from PSTN lines connected

Message waiting
The message waiting options seem to be geared for a normal office environment where there is a one-to-one relationship between a user and a phone/mailbox. I want to have a mailbox that is shared amoung a number of people and want the message waiting light to turn on on multiple phones. I can direct the voice mail to the common mail box. I can direct the individual users to the common mail

SV: Queues and call waiting indication
Hi, This issue has been discussed probably a million times on every asterisk forum in the world and I have the same problem too. Another problem you would have with the agents is that when they make an outgoing call they are not regarded as "busy" by asterisk and it sends more calls to the agent if it has call waiting enabled. This behaviour is totally senseless since the whole purouse

X100P to hardware PBX
I have asterisk successfully dialing out using a X100P over a normal analogue PSTN line. But when I try to dial out over an analogue line that goes via a hardware PBX the call asterisk does not dial. Is there a configuration change I should make ? I am thinking of something like not wating for dial tone.

a performance question
Hello all, First of all I''d like to thank everyone for making Xen so user friendly. I thought I''d be sweating through this but it''s been pretty straight forward (thanks to all the different tutorials on the net). I''ve got a domU that I created with dd if=/dev/zero of=vm_base.img bs=1024k count=4000 mkfs.ext3 vm_base.img dd if=/dev/zero of=vm_base-swap.img

One thing I was asking on IRC for is whether it makes sense for new backends to be committable in incremental steps. Especially for a complete backend like this, e.g. the asm parser would make a

mixed-effects model using lmer
Hello R-users, I have been trying to fit what I think is a simple mixed-effects model using lmer (from lme4), but I've run into some difficulty that I have not been able to resolve using the existing archives or Pinheiro and Bates (2000). I am measuring populations (of birds) which change with time at a number of different sites. These sites are grouped into regions. Sites are not measured

What about a higher level configuration language
Hi all. I've been reading through Wi-Ki and at the extensions.conf file description (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+config+extensions.conf) The author says this: "One day, someone is going to write a proper scripting language for Asterisk that can understand a simpler, easier (and more traditional) scripting syntax. All it would need to do is translate the "high

Exclude dovecot-uidlist files from a Maildir backup ?
Hi, I am using restic to backup my email (stored in dovecot Maildir format) to Amazon S3 As each message is a separate file on disk, and those files don't change after the email has been delivered and read by the user, the incremental backup each day is fairly efficient as it only stored new mails. However, the dovecot-uidlist files change frequently, and are often quite large. The

RCurl and kerberos
Dear list, I would like to call a Kerberos-authenticated web-service from within R. Curl can do it: $ curl --negotiate -u : "http://my.web.service/" so I would expect that RCurl also has the capability, but I have not been able to find the correct options to set. listCurlOptions() does not return anything with negotiate, and searching the source of RCurl, the only thing I found was

CONTRIB: crash_samba
I just wrote this little script that makes concurrent connections to a samba or NT server. It connects to a service and does a dir. This may be useful if you want to check the resources of your server. Configure it changing the vars at the begining. In my tests I compared two computers, NT vs samba-2.0.3 NT was much faster. 50 concurrent connections, 10 commands issued. NT-4.0 SP4 Ppro 166 ,
