Asterisk Community lost a valuable contributor today
I want to inform the community that last night one of our valuable
contributors and long-time community members, Rich Adamson, passed away
after a long battle with cancer.
Rich spent many, many hours sharing his valuable telecom and
transmission systems experience with everyone who could benefit from it;
he helped countless people solve audio quality and echo pr...

Hosting a R Graph Gallery?
Dear R users,
Following some of the recent questions and discussions about the R
plotting abilities, it occurred to me again that it would be very
valuable to have an R graph gallery.
Eric Lecoutre made a very nice example in:
http://www.stat.ucl.ac.be/ISpersonnel/lecoutre/stats/fichiers/_gallery.pdf
It would be very useful to many beginners, but probably also advanced
users of R, to have an overview of R graph types with graphical examples
and...

Your Valuable Inputs
Dear Friend;
We are using SSH as a main service on one of our Red Hat linux 9 based
server. The version is "$OpenBSD: sshd_config,v 1.73 2005/12/06 22:38:28 ".
You can see this is an older version but we are happy with it.
We are facing only one little issue with this which is
"After 'login: user id' inputting, server is taking almost 17 seconds before

bioinformatics repository?
Hi all, I'm new to Centos, just moved here from Gentoo Linux.
I have to install a server for bioinformatics purposes and I see that
default yum repositories do not include any bioinformatics software
(i.e. ncbi-toolkit, blat, and others). I'm googling a bit but I can't
find a valuable solution: which is (or which are) the best repository
I should add to have a satisfying list of bioinfo rpm?
Thanks

Release Retrospective
First off, congrats to everyone for getting Rails 2 released. A lot
of work went into the release, and it''s good to see us reach this
milestone. And now that the release dust has settled, I think it
might be useful for us to have a retrospective and evaluate how the
release went.
I think the Ruby on Rails project has improved a lot this year, and
this is another opportunity

[LLVMdev] Wiki?
In principle, having a Wiki like this would be valuable. In practice,
I think there will need to be some sanity checking to make sure
incorrect or misleading information is not added to it.
The old Wiki below isn't up any more. We can set one up on llvm.org.

ALTQ - Bandwidth Manager
Hi,
I have to port ALTQ(Alternate Queueing) software form the FreeBSD to QNX.
It''s more like a bandwidth manager.
Since I am new to this domain, any kind of help will be useful.
I have many doubts like
* What exactly is a bandwidth manager
* Where will it sit in the OS
* How will it be implemented.
Thanks in advance
Prajith.

[LLVMdev] Idea for Google Summer Code : C Compiler for EFI Byte Code implement in LLVM
...not open source, and also a pay software.
I think the main issue is that EFI C dialect is not ANSI-C compliant: the
size of pointer is determined at the run-time and therefore the layout of
the structure is not static. Does LLVM support this model?
And I am wondering whether this kind of idea is valuable to the LLVM
community? or are there any other related ideas is more valuable?
thanks

RFC: Adding IR Transformation examples/tutorial code to llvm-project
Hi,
I’d like to propose adding a new example directory (llvm/examples/IRTransforms) as a new home for example code used by various tutorials. After talking to a few people at the Developers meeting, it became clear to me that it would be valuable to have the code examples for various tutorials in-tree to keep them from bit-rotting and make it very easy to build them.
I’d suggest adding new IR pass examples to llvm/examples/IRTransforms. The passes in that directory will be built as an ExamplesIRTransforms library, which exposes initialize...

[LLVMdev] Future plans for GC in LLVM
...e lowering. Decide
which of these make sense to preserve and document.
(Lest anyone get the wrong idea, the above changes are intended to be
minor cleanup. I'm not looking to do anything controversial yet.)
Questions:
- Is proving the ability to generate a custom binary stack map format a
valuable feature? Adapting the new statepoint infrastructure to work
with the existing GCMetadataPrinter classes wouldn't be particularly hard.
- Are there any GCs out there that need gcroot's single stack slot per
value implementation? By default, statepoints may generate a different
stackma...

Video IVR Asterisk ?
...ients wants to set-up a video IVR system in the US
and we are evaluation possible options.
Also, what is the bandwidth of receiving a video call in US ? What protocols
and codecs are supported and does it work on DID numbers ? Can I rent a
hosted solution for this ?
Thanks in anticipation of your valuable inputs.

Anita Hall,
Simmortel.

RAID hard drive serial numbers?
smartctl, hdparm, and sdparm all are valuable tools to obtain hard drive
info. But, they don't seem to work, at least, on obtaining hard drive info
from drives on a Dell PERC controller. Instead, I'm given basic PERC
controller info, not drive info.
Is there a tool to let me get the hard drive make/model/serial numbers from a

Recommended hardware for a firewall/router?

for?
On a sidenote, I've noticed from the subject on some of the most recent
messages that Bryans beeing hassled. I dunno what it's really about since
I haven't read the messages, but I'd like to say that I consider Bryan to
be a valuable asset to this list.

Sorting by multiple categories
...results if any of the ''category'' fields only contained
"1" but most contain multiple values.
Does anybody know if there is anything in rails that can deal with this?
Also I was looking at mysql regexp statements, but I''m not smart enough
to write any sort of valuable regular expression.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
