1.2.6 Spurious pread()/stream errors/index corruption
Hi,
We're currently testing 1.2.x with a move from 1.1.x in mind however with
the current 1.2 series we are encountering some serious problems. simply
editing the main conf and restarting dovecot gives these errors seemingly
randomly:
(some previous posts indicated this might be todo with 64bit file offsets
so we've played around with disable-largefile and setting _FILE_OFFSET_BITS

Segfault when parsing configuration on x86_64
Hi,
Using the exact same build of 1.0.beta3, one i386 and the other x86_64, I
get segfaults upon startup with the x86_64 version when using the exact
same dovecot.conf file.
Here is the error :
# dovecot -F
Unexpected eof found when reading file 'UNOPENED' (Errcode: 0)
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
And the backtrace (I don't have symbols for all libs, sorry) :

Installation
...R installed and some it seems to work The graphics
demo doesn't do anything, though other demos seem to work and help()
says it cannot find the file.
In the latter instance the zipped Rhelp file seems corrupt and I have
now downloaded this three times, but on each occasion it has remained
unopenable.
However, as the installer hasn't actually conformed that the install is
complete, I am not sure whether I have a faulty install, or whether it
is something else.
Can anyone give me a hand.
Many thanks,
graham S

Fwd: Re: Fwd: dovecot bug report (64 bit file offsets)
Yes, the problem is the compatibility with the mysql library but I stull can't figure
out how this might affect reading/writing.

LocalCommand problem for tunneling on Linux
I've been testing tunneling on Linux with openssh-SNAP-20060116.tar.gz
and found a problem.
When I use LocalCommand for doing ifconfig stuff, the command line
was executed before a tunneling interface is opened. This causes
errors on Linux and the interface is not automatically set up.
This is not a problem on *BSD because you can do ifconfig for
unopened tun/tap interfaces. But in Linux,

par(new=T) works differently in pdf vs postscript if applied before a plot statement. (PR#4037)
If I place par(new=T) before I create a plot in a script that is sent to a pdf
device, the pdf is unopenable and reports itself as having no pages. The
postscript device seems to ignore the par instruction.
I guess one of these is a bug, but I don't know which one!

MySQL auth issues?
Hi,
Since my last email about RHEL4 problems on x86_64, I've kept trying to
figure out what the problem might be, and just ran into a reply to an old
email I sent to the list, which I had missed. It suggests that the issue
might be in the MySQL authentication that I'm using.
Here is a more detailed log entry, with auto debugging on :

Segmentation fault in 3.63 on 16GB USB
Hi,
I bought a 16GB Transcend JetFlash V10 yesterday and am trying to
put the fc8 livecd on it (after filling it up with all sorts of
other junk :)
I've only plugged it into an fc8 machine (from unopened) - nothing else.
I also have a Toshiba U3 2GB USB.
The OS is fc8 fully updated except the kernel (2.6.23.15-137.fc8)
the livecd-iso-to-disk uses the command
"syslinux -d syslinux

[asterisk-biz] D-Link Wifi Phones
Can they be used from any unsecured access point (eg they have a browser
to enter in a password etc) or can you only use them from home AP's etc.
Cheers,

some files could not be transferred (code 23) at main.c (1506)
Hi,
I'm trying to rsync a fairly large chunk of data [around 350 gigs,
mostly 1 gig files] between 2 hosts in separate colo facilities. Link
is plenty fast, I can pull 10 megs easily.
Everytime, it seems to die with something like this, whether I try
rsync from the stable 2 branch or the beta 3 branch

ov_raw_seek doesn't work ?
I found a problem with ov_raw_seek function in oggvorbis win32sdk 1.0.
When i called this function it returned OV_EINVAL immediatelly. I
solved the issue by replacing the ov_raw_seek by ov_pcm_seek, which
worked perfectly, but i would like to use the raw variant due to
performace reason . Is anybody aware of this strange behaviour ?

Problems under opensuse-10.3-x86_64
Hi,
I have a lot of problems to compile or to run the dovecot on my OpenSUSE
10.3 x86_64.
Sometimes the compiled binary cannot read the existing and running
config, the dovecot -n results in:
ian:/opt/src/build/dovecot-1.1.rc7 # /opt/dovecot/sbin/dovecot -n #
1.1.rc7: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf

Bitrot and panics
IIRC, uncorrectable bitrot even in a nonessential file detected by ZFS used to cause a kernel panic.
Bug ID 4924238 was closed with the claim that bitrot-induced panics is not a bug, but the description did mention an open bug ID 4879357, which suggests that it''s considered a bug after all.
Can somebody clarify the intended behavior? For example, if I''m running Solaris in a VM,

Ogg123 error messages
I know you're tired of hearing me complain about ogg123, but this time I noticed
that some of the error messages are a bit inconsistant. Also, I noticed that
some things (like "Error connecting to server") are fatal errors that kill
ogg123, while I think they should simply go on to the next file in the list like
"input not an Ogg Vorbis audio stream" does.
Another problem

How to Print A Document Only
...user to
be able to read the files in pdf. What options do I have ?
If I send the files directly to the printer will I have difficulty down
the road with formatting text or embedding pictures in the printable
document? Is there some workaround where I make the pdf "not readable"
or "unopenable" (when downloading) ? Can I make the pdf password secure
and not give the user the password and then only allow printing on the
document?
Thanks

Polycom configs?
I have a number of Polycom phones to setup with my * server. For my
initial few phones I hand wrote configs. Does anyone here who uses
Polycom phones have some form of management utility for automating
their setup?
