Icecast relay as a source to another icecast?
I have a situation where I'd like to be able to have icecast reach out to
another icecast server as a client. Is this possible with relaying? From
what I read relaying and master relaying both have the server reach out to
another server.
The reason is this.
I have a hardware encoder (Telos audioactive) sitting on a cablemodem.
I have a remote provider (streamcheap or something) set to relay the telos
unit.
It works, but eventually traffic on my cablemodem or other situations
cause the remote to disconnect. It never is able to reconnect again for
some reason.
I changed it where...

Hardware IAX phone (please read and reply!)
Hello all!
I've talked recently to the head of R&D dept. of Telkom Telos
(www.telos.com.pl) - a big Polish company specialised in making
phones. I gave them the idea of creating a cheap (cost-effective)
hardware IP phone. The phone we discussed would include hardware
support for IAX (though probably SIP/sth. else would be required too
if it were to hit the market....

icecast and hw streamer authentication
Since my last query went ignored let me try a different approach...
I've got a Telos hardware encoder that works under Shoutcast but gets
"authentication errors" when trying to use Icecast. Here's what I see when
trying to add the Telos as a relay:

request, relay refused entrance] [relay], conne...

streaming non-MP3 formats
Hi, I'm working on a project to add more audio formats
other than MP3 and Ogg that can be streamed by
Icecast. Yes, I mean streaming those formats, not
converting them to MP3. These formats I'd like to add
include PCM (.wav) and ADPCM (.adp). Although they are
much less advanced codecs compared to MP3, they have a
valid market for low-power clients.
I've been working on the source

any ISDN/PRI signaling experts out there?
I have officially engaged in a pissing contest with the local Telco over
PRI calling name delivery.
The telco publishes their calling name delivery over PRI feature as
being bellcore gr-1367-core compliant.
The gr-1367-core spec states that the calling name is to be included as
a facility IE in the setup message, or sent in a subsequent facility IE
message with an indicator in the setup message

Still the big Icecast problem!
...very little email from folks having trouble
connecting. So ostensibly we could choose any protocol we liked, so
long as there was a Flash Library to support it, since the listeners
don't NEED to know the difference.
TWO:
I need to encode Ogg professionally. We use hardware encoders from
TELOS. I picked these because it was the most rock-solid solution that
had AES inputs, and our production studios are all-digital.
(http://www.audioactive.com/products/webcasting.html) These use
licensed Fraunhofer encoders and also have some nice de-essing and
grunge reduction features that I am...

Of course. But that's not the whole story. Microsoft only
supports MP3 because so many people listen to mp3 radio
stations and files. And before
