? has mib:::udp[In/Out]Datagrams been superceded by mib:::udpHC[In/Out]Datagrams
Hi,
Looking at some udp stuff on snv_57, and I noticed that
mib:::udpInDatagrams no longer exists, has this been superceded by
mib:::udpHCInDatagrams?
From my understanding they represent the same counter, but I''m asking
in case this is a bug. I noticed that there is still a reference to
udpInDatagrams in the DTrace testsuite.

'Testing' branch will supercede 'Stable' in SVN
Folks,
When we migrated from CVS to SVN, we brought along both the Testing
and Stable branches. However, since SVN allows us to create a snapshot
of an entire branch for a release, the Stable branch is somwhat
redundant (since we would have to do an extra 'svn merge' to put
changes there).
After discussing this with Arnaud, and noting that nothing has been
committed to 'Stable'

Traffic shaping on CentOS

documentation was never created. The author also seems to have stop
updating his blog/company site since 2007 based on the last login date

So I'm wondering is tc the current and recommended method for traffic
shaping on CentOS or is there some newer method that has superceded
it?

Supercedes previous patch...
The previous patch, for whatever reason, fails to apply on top of tip.
This patch is reimplemented and, hopefully, fixed.

Ambisonics und OggPCM
Hi,
this message is a cross-post to the Sursound and ogg-dev mailig list.
The developers on the ogg-dev list are defining the Ogg/PCM format and
on Sursound list there discussion about Amisonics file formats recently.
I have not been able to follow both disussion, just skimmed through. But
maybe you can work together to bring Ambisonics into Ogg/PCM? :)

The project has been forked, not superceded.
Work on OggPCM is continuing, the team working on OggPCM2 is free to submit
their own draft but some are not welcome to continue work on OggPCM due to
their recent social conduct.

Where to find old 4.2 packages?
I'm trying to find a copy of the RPM for the 4.2 package
kernel-devel-2.6.9-22.0.1.EL.i686 which appears to have
expired from the Centos 4 mirrors.
Is there anywhere I can get copies of superceded packages?

YUM and installing older versions of software.
How does one specify a particular version of a software package to yum to
install? Is this even possible? What happens to superceded pacjkages in
repos? Are they simple removed/discarded?
yum install package-X.Y.Z-A.el5 ???
The reason I ask is if a yum update goes awry for some reason then how does
one revert to the previous (working) version? I seem to recall that up2date
had a feature whereby one could locally archive supers...

...ere are a few things you have missed:
The discussion on OggPCM2 was friendly and constructive and there were no
flame wars and the spec got much further than OggPCM.
There were many more people involved in the discussion on OggPCM2 than on
OggPCM and thus Erik jumped to the conclusion that it has superceded OggPCM.
OggPCM2 is covering a broader field of application than OggPCM, which is just
solving your particular problem. Therefore it would be better if you rename
OggPCM to something that is more specific to just your project.
Although both specs are competing and unfinished, it makes sense for us...

ID3 in ogg 1.0
Hello! I have a suggestion that I want to present before the final release.
One thing I've missed in mp3/ID3 is a field that could tell either in what language is the song/clip performed, or otherwise from what country is the artist.
What do you think of that? It would be a possibility to supercede mp3. :)
Regards Bo

[LLVMdev] Two Regalloc Enhancements
We have two features for register allocation we'd like to contribute if folks
think they are worthwhile. We want to get a read on whether they will be
useful to people.
The first features backschedules reloads during the spilling phase. As
reloads are generated, we have some very simple code to try to schedule them
as far ahead of the use as possible.
The second features modifies

[PATCH] Better detection for ioloop and notify
Hi List!
Attached is a patch to configure.in to test that epoll, poll, inotify, kqueue
and dnotify actually work. It also attempts to select the best one for you if
none specified.
This supercedes my previous patch in the re beta9 thread.
Hopefully get this in Gentoo's beta9 ebuild soon.
Thanks

php53 and mcrypt
...t support was removed by Redhat. I tried to find out why but I don't have sufficient access to redhat bugzilla. I am wondering if it is actually necessary as I have also run across a post or two that indicates applications that rely on mcrypt still work with the new php53.
Perhaps mcrypt was superceded by another module or PHP core code?

doveadm fetch vs search+fetch
What's the pactical difference between using "doveadm fetch" rather
than using "doveadm search" in conjunction with "doveadm fetch", as the
man pages suggest?
It seems "doveadm fetch" functionally supercedes "doveadm search"
making the latter obsolete. It can even be closely simulated
with "doveadm -f tab fetch ... 'mailbox-guid

your version needs to be renamed ArcPCM to reflect the fact that it's a

Refactoring of storage admin and node
This patch set supercedes the previous set, and incorporates feedback from jboggs.
There is a known issue in configuring volumes on an iSCSI pool that makes them
unsupported at the moment. This code functions identical to virt-manager in that
regard.

Issues with cifs mounts following Samba upgrade to 3.0.23a
My LAN includes a server machine running FC4, with several shares mounted with
Samba. Yesterday, I upgraded the packages on the FC4 machine, and these
included Samba, which is now at 3.0.23a. Unfortunately, this seems to have
broken the mounted shares for my Ubuntu 6.06 installation on my Acer 1682WLMI
laptop. The cifs module on Ubuntu reports as version 1.39.
The symptoms are that I can
