Experiences with Fedora 1
...edHat9,
probably because of its better use of the multi-threading capabilities of
the Xeon.
Before I deploy Fedora to customer sites, though, I'm interested in other
people's experience with Fedora. If you're using Fedora, please tell us:
what's been your experience?
Thanks

PRI dead in USA?
...pricing going up, and availability going down
in the near future. I don't have the volume yet to justify PRI.
What are other's experience in the US with BRI? Also, they mentioned that I
couldn't get caller ID with the BRI service, which I thought was a built-in
feature.

"Glare" condition - How well does asterisk handle?
...Normally PBX's are designed to have the CPE yield to an incoming call if a
particular channel is seized by both ends at the same time (a condition
known as "glare"), but I'm wondering if anyone has real-world experience
with asterisk to say how well this is handled.
Thanks

CPU power required - Asterisk
...F's and speak prompts (probably
A-Law encoded) on a number of E1 circuits simultaneously.
Realistically, how many 30-channel E1's can I support with, for example, a
Pentium III 1.4 GHz? I want to build an 8 E1 (240 channel) system - do I
need more horsepower than this?
Thanks

Dell PowerEdge 750 rackmount

using an "assembled" package for the server, instead of building them from
components as I usually do.
Does anyone have experience with the Dell PowerEdge 750 server, or any other
1U rackmount server for use with asterisk?
Thanks in advance

Fix for Redhat 9 zombie AGI processes
...apparently due to a RedHat 9 threading issue
introduced in a recent update....
To get rid of this, try entering the following line before you start
asterisk:
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
It works for me - I'm still checking to see if there are any other side
effects - none yet..

D channel 48 ...etc...??

Question about cdr_sql fields
Hello-
Is it possible to set the CDR record field called "accountcode" from within
the dialplan? Or is there another way to cause this field to be set,
preferably without using AGI code.
Thanks

cdr_mysql question: accountcode
...ough the allocated field in the table is
larger (varchar(45)).
Anyone familiar with the asterisk sources know where I can make a change to
keep this from happening? ie: to allow more characters to be stored here. I
could not see where this is limited in the source code (pbx.c).
Thanks!

Good system board to use with TE410P?
...ower a system with two (2)
Digium TE410P cards. Since these cards require the 3.3 volt PCI, I'm
considering vendors like Tyan for the motherboard.
Can anyone please tell me their experiences with the Tyan i7501 series
(Xeon-basd), or recommend an alternate motherboard?
Thanks

Tuning the Linux kernel?
...ten mentioned here that recompiling the Linux kernel may improve the
performance of asterisk.
My question is: Does re-compiling the kernel have any effect if there are
no changes to the configuration?
What parameters will typically improve performance?
Thanks for any insight!

H.323 Audio problem UPDATE
...cated than h323. Follow the
instructions in the ReadMe file exactly.
* You must choose and install the proper versions of PWLib and OpenH323, as
stated.
* Don't forget to edit the Makefile as stated.
Some load testing to following this week, but I'm encouraged!

I wouldn't make a fuss about this. sarge is at least as good
as woody and much more up to date for the stuff asterisk can

Asterisk agi interface leaves zombie processes?
...ame AGI etc with an older CVS (7/1/03) and this does not
happen.
I think a zombie process is a process that doesn't release some resource
(shared memory, etc), so I'm worried about this since I call my AGI once per
incoming call.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks

T100P-E100P circuit board differences
...ed an E100P from Digium (I normally buy quad boards)
I noticed that the circuit board says "T100P" on it, and I assume that the
T100P and E100P both use the same circuit board.
Can someone please confirm that their E100P says "T100P" on the artwork?
Thanks

3.3v PCI board - TE410P photo

longer than the TE410P board requires, but the PCI connector
layout matches.
CHECK YOUR BOARD CAREFULLY, not only the spec's, but a picture
of the PCI slots. I've seen some of the boards posted here do
not in actuality have compatible slots.

Would Mark, John or any of you feel this would be of benefit to host?
