Thanks, Peter

Spectralink 8002
Hello, I hope this isn't too off topic, but I'm attempting to set up a Spectralink 8002 Wifi phone with our Asterisk installation, and seem to be running into a brick well (more of a wall than others that have posted their experiences). My problem is that the phone boots, associates with the wireless, grabs an IP (tried static too - same thing), contacts the TFTP server for firmware, then

Polycom Spectralink 8002 Configuration
I have a new Polycom Spectralink 8002 and am having trouble with the configuration or the unit but I can't see what's wrong. The unit does not seem to even attempt to register with the Asterisk proxy but I can make calls to it. I have viewed the syslog from the device which it will actually write to the asterisk server so I know it can be reached. I have also run a sip debug and

SIP/WiFi handsets?
Anyone know of any *portable* SIP/WiFi handsets? Looking for a decent price:quality ratio, of possible. Keep seeing handsets for Vonage, etc., in Best Buy and the like, but I imagine it's locked to Vonage, and can't be re-appropriated. Thanks! -Ken -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

sip show channels - gives a growing list of dead channels
I am using Asterisk 1.4.18 with 70 various Polycoms, 12 analog, and 18 Spectralink wireless IP phones. Most of the Spectralink phones have entries in 'sip show channels' that do not go away. None of the other phones do this. Is there anyway to remove these entries without restarting Asterisk? Any ideas on what could be done to prevent this? Example output: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 541

OT: Managing wireless SIP phone congestion on AP
We are planning a very large Asterisk deployment, using Wifi SIP phones. We've done installs using Spectralink and the SVP to manage congestion at the access points, but we have a client that doesn't want Spectralinks. Anyone have experience with an alternative congestion management (AP association management ?) technology with Asterisk? Anything open source that I'm not aware of? Any other protocols I'm not aware of? Thanks, MD -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbe...

WiFi Phones (was Looking for Wireless Heaset for Polycom 501)
Martin: I had seen your other post and sent you a message off-list, but I never got a response. What do you feel is the most lacking that does not make it ready for a production enviroment. - I've been using a SIP deskphone in my office and usually some sort of ATA at my house, both as the primary phone. I've also had mobile phones from almost every carrier. Each one of these devices

Polycom firmware 4.0.1 and paging
Hi, I just moved many Polycom phones from firmware v3 to 4.0.1b. Anto-Answer simply stopped functioning. I can downgrade and make it work, upgrading kills it again. There obviously is a difference in how the newer firmware is treating this auto answer sip header. Can anybody tell me if they have Polycom firmware 4.x.x working with auto-answer/paging? Just so I know it's worth my time

Wifi Phones
Hello list, I was going to buy this weekend a Wisip from http://www.pulverinnovations.com/, but jeff got out of stock and he wont have Wisip for the next 3 to 4 weeks. So I start searching for other wifi phones because I was really upset about it and I found IPC5000 from http://www.fahdtel.com/sip_phones.htm, I liked so much the pic that I email the guy and he send me the PDF with all the details

Wifi Phone with Multiple Line Appearances
Hi All - I'm looking for a Wifi SIP phone that can do multiple line appearances. It seems the Spectralink Netlink e340 can do multiple lines, though I can't figure out how many. Does anybody know of any others that can do at least two line appearances? Thanks, Noah

Intro to DECT vs IP
We've deoplyed a number of pure VoIP wireless (wifi & proprietary) phones, but not dect. Is there a simple overview of integrating DECT phones with Asterisk somewhere? I assume the DECT basestation has a multi-account SIP VoIP interface, and the handsets are just plain old dect? Can you push configuration info to individual phones? (Are they individually addressible / configurable

Siemens Gigaset IP in USA (S685 IP in particular)
For some unfathomable reason, Siemens USA doesn't offer the Gigaset IP range in the U.S. I'm particularly interested in the Gigaset S685 IP. Since it's DECT 6.0, and there's an English (UK) version, I'm thinking it should work just fine, after dealing with the walwart issue (and maybe caller ID signalling). Anyone imported one from the UK and using it in the US? for how
