Newbie here/batch encoding
Hi everyone. I just discovered Ogg Vorbis and I AM IMPRESSED. Here's my
question: I want to encode a batch of wavs and I'm not sure how to do it
using command line. (The drag n drop version doesn't seem to want to work
for me so I won't bother with it.) Anyway, I know the command line has the
option "-s" for a series of input files but I'm not sure how to use it. Will

Using vcut
...les, miliseconds, seconds, h:mm:ss as cut point, but nothing
worked (I even tried to enter 1 as cutpoint, but I always got
"Cutpoint not within stream." message)...
I'm doing this on Windows, if it matters...

[ot] PCABX problems under win98
I've been preparing some samples of a recent pre-rc4 compile for ABX
testing, using the PCABX tool at pcabx.com. I was able to run this
successfully under win95/osr2 earlier, but now under 98se, no dice. All I
get is an error message reading: "Component 'MCI32.OCX' not correctly
registered: file is missing or invalid". I found the file online and tried

Vorbis support in Winamp
I would like you guys to test the latest version of my plug-in:
http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.zip
This one is considered the final version and there are no known bugs in it,
but you might be able to find some.
quick notes:
* HTTP seeking is as slow as hell, don't use it.
* UTF8 stuff should (finally) work correctly now.

channel coupling in rc2
This question has probably been asked a zillion times, but I'm either too
dumb or too lazy to sift through the archives, so I'll ask it here again:
Which of the bitrates in RC2 utilize channel coupling and which don't? And
when can we expect to choose for ourselves whether we want to use channel
coupling at any particular bitrate?
Thanks for your patience,

VorbisExt prerelease
Hello All,
VCE is undergoing a transformation. I have converted VCE into a shell
extension and renamed it to VorbisExt. The pre-release executable and source
code is available from:
http://www.ozemail.com.au/~spitsw/VorbisExt/
Now you can change the comments of an Ogg file by pressing ALT-Enter or
right click and Properties then selecting Comments while in explorer. There

I finally figured out why I was having so many problems with MSVC 5.
Compiler optimizations were doing BAD things. :-(
Anyway, here's the goodies:

If somebody can get a working version from MSVC 6 please send it back to me
and I'll make it available. That

ISO Website-embedded Ogg player
Since Flash has MP3 support built in, it is possible to create a
Flash movie that will play a streaming MP3 file. This is useful
for when someone wants to have a radio broadcast using MP3 files
and they want to create a flash "applet" for playing the
broadcast, which could keep the viewer/listener still attached
to the website to enjoy other content at the same time. Perhaps

Announce: VCE v0.1.2
Hello All,
VCE does unicode/utf-8. I recommend all users to upgrade as it now handles
extended characters correctly.
There are now two binary versions of VCE. There is an NT version (for
Windows NT/2000) and a 95 version (for Windows 95/98/ME). They will
eventually be merged into one executable again. Download the appropriate
file for your platform.

rc2 incompatibilities ?
Files encoded with rc2 (comes from the latest RPM available at
vorbis.com) seems to be unreadable for ogg123 < rc2 version (for
example, beta4)
Is that normal ? Will this file be readable with ogg123 >= rc2 ?
Are plugins for windows player updated, can they read ogg files encoded
with ogg123 rc2 ?

Byte-width of a bitstream, cabbages, and other things
Sorry to bug you all, but I have some questions (I have beta4 at the moment;
don't ask):
I was reading through the VorbisFile API documentation because I'm writing
code to deal with Ogg Vorbis-encoded files, and nowhere did I see a function
or method for retrieving the byte-width of a stream. However, I did notice
that ov_read() takes a word size as a parameter. Am I correct in assuming
