rsync and hfs+ compressed files damaged
Hi All, I have been using rysnc 3.0.6 with Mike's rsync_3.0.6-hfs-compression_20091027.diff patch (as well as the standard osx patches) with good results. I discovered that clones done on 10.6 using this rsync cause some executable files ( the ones that are mostly compressed this way on osx ) to be damaged. I did a test twice and indeed a handful of them are damaged. They all appear to be in

Rsync synchronizes unchanged files
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I wish to use rsync to synchronize a whole fat32 (MSWindows) partition mounted into a linux system. I run rsync from linux. The problem is rsync synchronizes most of the data even if the data hasn't changed since the original image was made. I used the -avz parameters to do the backup and the same for restoration. Also I've tried just -rvz. It

Squid and HTTPS interception on CentOS 7 ?
Hi, I've been running Squid successfully on CentOS 7 (and before that on 6 and 5), and it's always been running nicely. I've been using it mostly as a transparent proxy filter in school networks. So far, I've only been able to filter HTTP. Do any of you do transparent HTTPS filtering ? Any suggestions, advice, caveats, do's and don'ts ? Cheers from the snowy South of

kvm_open: kvm_nlist: No such file or directory
A few weeks ago I did a source upgrade from 6.2 to 7-STABLE. I didn't "make delete-old" so a bunch of old libraries and such were left lying around causing problems when I rebuilt all my ports. I'd read about some recent improvements to DDB and SCHED_ULE in 7-STABLE, and it's a miserable snowy weekend in Seattle right now, so I decided I'd take this opportunity to

copying previously installed libraries to R 2.3.0
hi all, is there a new mechanism in R 2.3.0 for copying libraries from, say, R 2.2.1 to R 2.3.0? i ask because gabor grothendieck comments in his copydir.bat (from gabor's batchfiles at: http://cran.r-project.org/contrib/extra/batchfiles/batchfiles_0.2-5.zip ): ``:: I personally upgraded my 2.1.0 to 2.2.0 this way so it seems ok until :: R replaces this with something better which is

rsync-2.5.5 released
A new version of rsync has been released. Because this version fixes an bug that broke rsync's delta-update capability we recommend that users upgrade when convenient. rsync 2.5.5 "Snowy River" (2 April 2002) ENHANCEMENTS: * With --progress, when a transfer is complete show the time taken; otherwise show expected time to complete.
