Asterisk compatibility with SMS services
Can anyone comment on using SMS in conjunction with VoIP service using
one of these three VoIP providers: voip.ms, vitelity.com, flowroute.com?
Are some SMS services more compatible with Asterisk (i.e. SMS over SIP
works perfectly or not)? Is it best to use a different data channel for
SMS messages (i.e. SMS via HTTP, SMS via...

Asterisk with SMS
Hi all,
I am trying to setup the SMS of Asterisk. I have a Siemens SMS enable
fixed phone which connects to my Asterisk through PSTN. Currently, I
can use my fixed phone to edit and send messages to the Asterisk.
However, I cannot make my Asterisk to send messages to the fixed phone.
The SMS command displays TX and RX records, han...

Occasional SMS problem
Hi,
I am using asterisk's SMS functionality for sending messages. Most of
the time it works without problems (as in situation 1) but sometimes
something seems to go wrong with the transmission (as in situation 2). I
am using "Deutsche Telekom", Germany's main TELCO, so I suppose the
problem must be on my end....

sending an SMS via Asterisk?
I've been googling and reading a lot, but I'm not getting any closer to
getting an SMS sent via Asterisk.
Prior to switching to asterisk, I used sms_client on an ISDN line to
dial one of two Swisscom SMS centers: 0900900941 or 0794998990.
My dialplan looks like this:
exten => 0900900941,1,Goto(smsmotx,${CALLERIDNUM},1)
exten => 0794998990,1,Goto(smsmotx,${CALLERIDNUM},1)...

SMS and fixed land lines
Hi,
1. Do you have any experience with receiving incoming SMS on an analog or
ISDN landline ?
How can then you differentiate an SMS call from a voice call ?

Asterisk SMS configuration
Hi,
I've been trying to setup SMS on asterisk - would be useful to have for
things like server outages, email from important customers, etc.
I can send SMS with no issues, although I have to send it over the Zap
line.. none of the VOIP providers will route the call. It arrives on my
mobile phone a couple of minutes later (usuall...

Asterisk SMS()
All,
I'm trying to send an SMS directly from asterisk but it doesn't seem to be working. The SMS() function does create an outgoing file but doesn't deliver the SMS. Can anyone help me to understand how SMS() works. Thanks.

same => n,SMS(hello,a,17654307001,"hello nick")

SMS & Asterisk
Hi all! I am intrested in the following scheme
My mobile phone -> SMS to SOMETHING -> Redirect to FWD number -> FDW
redirect to my * -> My * doing smtg
There are companies like calluk.com that provide DIDs for free, but
they do not support SMS.
In http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cmd+Sms they say

I'm trying to send an sms:

Happy Wednesday Morning SMS question, slightly OT
We all mostly know that * as well as various SIP phones support SMS.
While the final setup is somewhat of a mystery, there are reports of
those lucky souls who have it working. We also know that in order to
send an SMS to a mobile phone, we need to connect to some SMS message
center and get the word out that way.
Now, here's the new (?) element: How can I...

SMS in Spain (it seems Protocol 2)
Hello,
(I have asked it some time ago in Asterisk-es mailing list, so excuse me if
anybody receive it twice.)
I am trying to send SMS in Spain using landlines. It seems that
app_sms.c only handles Protocol 1, but Spain and Italy are using
Protocol 2.
I have been searching in Internet without any results... anybody is
sending SMS from Asterisk (or any method) using Protocol 2? (so, it
seems, Spain or Italy?)
If nobody is able to...

Trouble getting SMS working
Hi,
I have been trying to get my asterisk box to send SMS's to my Panasonic dect phone via
a Linksys pap2. I believe I have the message centers setup correctly
between * and the phone.
The pap2 is configured to only use G711a.
The Asterisk version is 1.0.7.
In my /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf I have

SMS Service over SIP/IAX/h323/MCGP
The problem I have had with many SMS email gateways, is that they do not
allow to reply back. Of course, email is a superior service over SMS, but
does not really replace it ( - at least not until all the mobile phones have
email access on them...).
It would be nice if the SMS service would be available not only on
GSM/GPRS/etc., but...

SMS Scenario
Hello;
I need two scenarios:
1) If someone sent SMS message, then we need to query information from the database based on information sent by the SMS (like the name or the mobile number), after querying from the database, we need to reply by the SMS. Can asterisk do this? To which level?
2) I have vtiger CRM, and it is possible to send SMS (there i...

Asterisk and VoDSL
...are, so please excuse my
questioning.
I plan to set up a little system, using Asterisk and VoDSL via Belcacom
or Scarlet here in belgium.
We are yust a little 2 man company and we are not always in our office.
My idea is, to get VoDSL and set up a system that works as following:
A customer sends SMS or phones to our office-numbers, if we are out,
Asterisk checks the CallerID or if hidden, sends back an sms or says,
that the customer should send or type in his client-number.
Then Asterisk send an sms to the one, who is working on that customer,
so that we can make call-backs if nesessary.
