OT: VoIP SLA for SIP trunking - SMEs
Hi guys,
I know that this could be considered a bit off the topic, I've just posted
this topic at VoIPSEC mailing list but I just thought this could be very
interesting for Asterisk community members so I'm posting it here too.
So the point is for traditional telephony we expect service availability of
99,999% and what about VoIP providers around the world what is currently
available?

Getting error code 12 when using rsync with ssh in RHEL 8
Hi SMEs,
I have been working on a geo replication solution and it uses rsync
internally. Recently when I was running the utility in RHEL 8, I started
facing seeing the following message :

Current RHEL fragmentation landscape
...Navy Linux (status unknown)
SUSE RHEL fork (status unknown)
For me it's clear that RHEL and certain clones/forks are here to stay.
Large enterprises or institutions like CERN and Fermilab will continue to
use RHEL and their favorite rebuild. Whoever likes it or not. The same
goes for a lot of SMEs and private users.
It will be interesting to see what turns out to be the new Gold standard.
"
Personally I expect we may see not one, but two Gold standards in the
future. To run commercial applications, RHEL will stay the Gold standard.
To run all kind open source software, one of the clon...

miugrating mail to new server
Hi All,
I've just a new server to help with migration of our email, the old
email server is using mbox and the new is using Maildir. I've
managed to some user mail migrated fine. The new server is only a
temp server as I have too many users to migrate easily in one go(Also
I want to nuke the current mailserver, remove SuSE and install Debian
on it). So what i'm doing it

cutting everything after @
Hello,
I am migrating one server to dovecot. The only problem is, that users
have logins with @domain as part of their user name. I want to use pam
auth (for other reasons, if only for dovecot, I would use mysql, but I
need the same password db to be used for other services, like samba).
Is there a way to allow this type of login? Just cut everything
beginning with @. I can change the

Script to convert mboxes to maildirs?
Does anybody know of a script of a simple method of
converting mbox mail stores to maildirs? I'm moving
from an old pop3 system to imap and after installing
about half our office with mboxes have found that mbox
does not support subfolders which some people like to
use.
Is there any simple way of converting? I can go to
each individual account and "manually" convert swaping
data

Track when user last checked mail
First off I've just got to say thanks. We just upgraded from UW to Dovecot
migrating from mbox to maildir. Wow, what a difference! Load average used
to hang around 5.0 during business hours and could get up to 20+ on a bad
day. Now we rarely break 1.0!
I'm wondering if there's a way to keep track of the last time a user checked
their email and whether they checked it using POP or

bandwidth down to a minimum and (probably more importantly), CPU usage if
it's a low-power processor. And hopefully when the crackers stop seeing
replys, they'll give up and go elsewhere.
It's downfalls:
Providing virtual PBX services for SMEs:
We have to be careful if we're providing virtual PBX type services for a
SME company behind a NAT firewall, (think 100 SIP phones all registering
at the same time from the same IP address) but in-general they'll have a
fixed IP address so we can simply bypass them earlier in the chain so...

dovecot.index.cache 1/3rd of INBOX size
I've noticed that my dovecot.index.cache file has got very large (24MB,
which is more than 1/3 of my INBOX size). I've tried deleting (well,
renaming) the dovecot.index.* files, and re-opening my INBOX, and the
new dovecot.index.cache is only 90KB so far.
I'm using dovecot-1.0-stable and mbox format. My mail_cache_fields and
mail_never_cache_fields are set to the default.

SPA-3000 as FXO Gateway for * (Was: Qs about FXO/FXS cards)
...nexpensive FXO interface for * rules it out
in one of the largest potential markets, small business PBX systems. The
lack of re-invite proxy capability rules it out for very large
deployments (of course there is SER to help out with those). At least
for us right now our * deployments are limited to SMEs with PRIs for
PSTN interfaces. I hate to rely on eBay goods for deployments, while the
prices are great it always seems I eventually end up paying full pop
because an item fails and there is not eBay inventory or spares on hand.
I have no issues posting configs that I have spent time on, as it see...

The problem is one of trust - in the past even significant CAs have had
their signing keys leaked, so it's difficult for the root CAs to trust
a company who deals with SMEs with cut price signing (the
infrastructure has a significant cost, so they must be cutting corners
somewhere!).
That was until LetsEncrypt comes along - it has the backing of some big
names and *IS* an effective business model for small and private
customers.

1.0-test75 and roadmap for v1.0
http://dovecot.org/test/
Keywords are finally stored in maildir filenames and listed in
"dovecot-keywords" file. It should be possible to just rename 0.99.x's
.customflags file to dovecot-keywords (but it can't be renamed back
after modification).
Also fixed another uid/sequence mixup bug with setting keywords in
general (in mbox too).
Fixed SHA1 checksum generation with
