Re: Wine Installation issues on Snow Leopard
...hink that my explanation will help the others, though this thread is already 10 months-old. In addition, the below steps to put 2 codes were not mentioned in the tutorial by David Baumgold at http://davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/ To solve the problem: First: run the code Code: sudo port selfupdate Second: run this code Code: sudo port sync Ps. to Iamapplenerd: You may use the wrong code. doh123 provided is the correct one. "sudo port selfupdate" but not "sudo port self update" No space between self & update. This is maybe the point that's why you couldn&...

I installed ImageMagick and RMagick on my MacBook Pro using Darwin Ports and the normal gem install, respectively. I got the dreaded "bus error." I read Tom Mornini''s discussion about installing GraphicsMagic and then RMagick, so I used port uninstall

Mac Wine.app Launcher
Hey, I'm running Wine 1.1 on OS-X Leopard, and am trying to figure out how to tell Finder to open all files with a .exe extension to open with Wine. The only way I can think of is to create a new .app folder with just enough information to link to the actual Wine executable. I took apart the .app package of jEdit and replaced all references to jEdit with ones for Wine, then symlinked the

Wine sourcing for noobs
Heres the deal; I want to install a patch. I need to do this by installing wine from source. I do not know how to do this. I have looked at the winewiki, and all over this forum. I have googled the bejesus out of it. I get that I have to unpack the wine source code and what not, all the code stuff just looks like stuff to put in terminal, but evidently that is not the case. Darwine: Running an SDL game
Hi all I'm trying to play the game "BOH" (http://www.bohthegame.com/) on OS X using Darwine. I downloaded 1.1.19 and dragged the Darwine folder to /Applications. Then I opened the BOH installer using WineHelper and installed the game. For some reason it put the installed files inside the WineHelper application bundle. When I tried to open the game's executable using WineHelper,

Since MacPort kinda broke, I pull it all out and re-install the ports I have before, which went pretty smoothly. Then to my surprise any command I issue like ruby, gem /bundle started giving me "execv failed:...

Scaling Puppet 0.22.1 to hunderdes of nodes.
Hi, My environment is composed of ~250 workstations hitting a single puppetmaster server, which has been working fairly well up until now. The most recent change has been a migration of a lot of remote file copy objects which were previously handled with cfengine. client side puppetd calls to the puppetmaster.getconfig method are taking unreasonably long, on the order of 2-3 minutes. It
