Splom custom superpanels
I thought one nice addition to a splom figure would be to have the scatterplots in the upper triangle and a color-coordinated correlation matrix on the bottom. So I tried my hand at customizing panel.pairs(), and was rebuffed. Many times. Four hours of fruitless debugging later, I turn to you for help: panel.pairs(z=teststatfull[,6:12], pscales=0, panel.subscripts=FALSE, subscripts=,

PR#10583
Thank you for your quick reply and for only indirectly scolding me for abusing the RBugs list. :-) However, I do think there is something funny in the 2.7.0 docu (or in the code). Things behave as expected and explained by you for version 2.6.0/2.6.1, but in the development version 2.7.0 (which I was using) the output is different (see below). The CHANGES file...

btrfs problems and fedora 14
I thought I would try btrfs on a new installation of f14. yes, I know its experimental but stable so it seemed to be a good time to try it. I am not sure if I have missed something out of all my searching but am I correct in thinking that currently: I. it is not possible to boot from a snapshot of the operating system and, in particular, the yum snapshots cannot be used for

uniqueness validation perplexity
I want to write a validate routine to check to enforce that a position must be unique in a category. (In another category, it doesn''t have to and shouldn''t need to be unique.) I write this code which works happily for new items: def position_in_category_not_unique @items = Item.find( :all, :conditions => [ "category_id = ? AND position = ?", category_id,

Adding image file support for Windows
Hi Community - I would like to request that SYSLINUX be extended to install on a filesystem image file on the Windows platform. This feature is available on Linux (option -t); however, on Windows SYSLINUX only installs with a raw device path. This feature would be use by another open source project. As an small incentive, I'll offer a small, token bounty ($50) for the developer that

Server Hacked: Cpanel
...en get owned so fast. Luckily this was for my personal business entity, and not my full-time job, which indeed does run 50-70 Centos servers behind layers of firewalls and other protections, and *no* commercial products, only centos packages by Dag or Karanbir. To anyone in the mood for scolding, please hold off OK? I'm not in the mood for overbearing attitudes right now. I'm trying to run a business and seek solid answers. I see Centos as a reliable alternative to commercial offerings *if* you pay careful attention to what the senior staff and relevant discussion groups advise....

To redirect any message into /dev/null
Hi all, I'm running a script in my crontab like this: */50 * * * * /root/scripts/keepjobrun 2>&1 > /dev/null However, crontab always sends a message to root (me) about the above script. How do I stop it from sending any notification? Thank you very much, -- Fajar Priyanto | Reg'd Linux User #327841 | Linux tutorial http://linux2.arinet.org 1:23pm up 5:18, 2.6.16.13-4-default

symbols plot
before getting scolded for submitting a (non-)bug report: when using the 'symbols' function for plotting boxplot data (i.e. using 'boxplots' symbols), I noted that the x/y-position of the symbols is associated with the center of the box. while this is obviously natural for a usual plotting symbol (say a circle or a rectangle), it is probably not desired if one uses the

Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine publishes Samba art icle.
I got mcp mag a day or two ago, Great writeup!! I was a little surprised that they ran such a glowing review of samba, with some of the negative implications on NT. It is very nice to see Microsoft show an interest in interoperability. -Steve Roylance > -----Original Message----- > From: Jeremy Allison [SMTP:jallison@cthulhu.engr.sgi.com] > Sent: Thursday, April 15, 1999 6:41 PM >

Well it appears i have no clue what im doing. I thought i had the below script working to shape outbound ftp traffic....however, it is shaping inbound traffic too. I have NO clue why. Please comment if anyone has any ideas why this doesnt work. Hash.new{|h,k| h[k] = ""} ... but for views?
I sometimes buy myself a default value for a hash using something like this: h = Hash.new{|h,k| h[k] = ""}. I can now pass ''h'' any key and if a value has not yet been associated with that key I receive an empty string. I would love to do something similar in my partials so that I wouldn''t have to worry about passing in every variable that is referenced.
