Plotting color.legend() outside of plot region
Dear List, I am trying to plot a color.legend() in the right outer margin of my device region. I have read multiple threads on the subject and still can't get it right. I have stolen an example from one of the threads to demonstrate my problem. I have extended the outer margin using par(oma()), and have used par(xpd=NA) to tell it to plot in the device region. I can get the legend to plot

some questions: client for ultralinux and streaming
Greetings, I am rather new to OGG or streaming, so I like to ask some questions: First, clients: I have a sun ultra-sparc 5 running linux. What clients can I use? The xmms (that came with the redhat 6.2 installation) does not have the vorbis-pluging, and -I guess- the xmms-plugin that's on the vorbis-website is for intel-linux? Where could I get the source for the plugin and (if

(newby) IAX Trunk on low bandwidth connection
Hello everyone, this is my first post to the list, so hello again. We're a small company in Romania and we're trying to set up a really small version of "call center". That is, we want to get a few land-lines from our telco in different countys and "bridge" all calls to our HQ, in order to make it cheeper for our clients to call us. Unfortunatelly there's no ISP

WiFi IP Phones
Guys. I know there are wifi sip phones out there but I have a question, are any of these phones "anti explosive"? By that I mean, there are certain regulations about phones or cel phones that are not recommended to operate in environments like gas stations due to sparks and the chance of ingiting gas fumes. Are there any wifi sip phones out here that have complaince with regulations to

Satellite ocean color palette?
Dear List, Is there a color palette avaliable similar to what is used in satellite ocean color imagery? I.e. a gradient with blue on one end and red on the other, with yellow in the middle? I have tried topo.colors(n) but that comes out more yellow on the end. I am looking for something similar to what is found on the CoastWatch web page:

Desired Install in MotorHome
I've got a client who would love to be able to leave an asterisk server running sompelace, and achieve telephone connectivity using an IP phone from within his Motorhome in his words "I want to be able to work from a mountaintop in Glacier National Park" I've done some initial testing, and a SNOM200 SIP phone comes close enough to working that I have not ruled out the idea as

Moving from DSL to T1
I work in a small office and have fallen into the role of network support based on knowing enough about networking to be dangerous. Our office is moving from DSL to a T1. Were using Asterisk as our PBX and I'm looking for hints or resources that might help me make the transition as error free as possible. Are there well known gotchas that I shoud be aware of? Thanks in advance, Richard

VoIP over satellite internet
Could those on the list who have used or tried to use VoIP over a satellite internet connection comment on how well it works or if it even works at all in a reliable way. What is the effect of latency on the VoIP path and how much is generally tolerable? routing via satellite adds about a quarter second of latency to the path. Is that too much? Eric

using samba through a VPN
I already have an existing network that is managed by a samba PDC. In the next few days, I will be linking another small LAN to the existing one over the internet using openvpn. I've been told that samba (through no fault of its own) doesn't work very well through a VPN. For the new network, there will be a box with 2 NICs: one for the internet and one for the LAN. This box will use

Which hardware configuration? How would this work?
Hello Everyone, Please accept my appologies - I've been reading through the handbook and the online documentation / mailing list archives and can't quite get my own answer to these inquiries... The biggest mystery is how the existing handsets are connected to a new machine running Asterisk. Background: - The phone system we have is horribly out of date and may pack-it-in any day now. -

PRI/T-1
Ok so I'm thinking about migrating to a Flex T-1 with 1.024Mb Data and 6 Hard Incoming/Outgoing Phone Lines. I can either break them out via channel bank and use a FXO to convert them but I'm told it will add a dely of at least one ring. And you have another analog/digital conversion to the mix. The 2nd option is to bring them in over PRI's Question is the solution provider will

Tripp Lite OMNIVS1000 USB driver
There is a branch (Tripp_Lite_Omni) in CVS for the Tripp Lite OMNI USB driver that I have been working on. I think it covers both the OMNIVS1000 and the OMNIVS1500XL, but I do not have one of the latter units to test. If you have one of these, and want to do some testing, please check out the branch and let me know if you run across any problems. I also occasionally make tarball snapshots; email

I know alot of you have said to symbolically link tty0 to com1...but I just don't nkow where the ./wine directory is located, I look in file manager, andit's just not there. and I usually use that as a point of
