Send in your favorite CentOS slogan today
Hi everyone,
The CentOS project is looking for more slogans that may end up on
promotional material (eg media, flyers, posters or stickers). We already
collected a few funny, ironic, sarcastic or even distasteful ones.
Feel free to visit our Slogans wiki page for a good laugh or rude
offenses and add your own slogan by sending them to this thread.
See:

And who knows, yours may end up somewhere ? If it gets selected, you win

I was under the impression that I was being sarcastic/funny. If I didn't
come across that way, then I am sorry. I certainly didn't intend to come
across as rude or anything of the sort.
I am confused why Jeremy would say to use MIT vs Heimdal when the
message I sent clearly shows an mit-krb5 package, but I had no intent of
being rude. It...

If you and others believe this to be the case, then form an organization
and fork CentOS. Or, do as CentOS did in the beginning and recompile the
RHEL binaries to be binary-compatible and create your own OS.
It is the open-source way, and I am not being sarcastic.

Recurrent DNS issues after DC loss
...f I hadn't messed up my id map ranges (domain groups
start with 2000), and if I hadn't begun removing stuff manually, and if
I wouldn't use Domain Users as primary group, I could have joined an
up-to-date DC and used the new script for demoting the dead one.
I am not trying to sound sarcastic. I am trying to understand, and see
whether perhaps there is still hope for such a maneuver.

I began my original message saying that I was providing

Nevertheless, LLVM is not provided as a ready-to-use DLL,
unfortunately.

Yes I have spent hours researching on Google, but what may take me 3 days

A file with extension .sdb in a codebook section of a large database from a survey?
The TIMSS2007 database http://timss.bc.edu/TIMSS2007/idb_ug.html seems
to provide "both kinds" of universal data formats - either SPSS saved
data sets or SAS saved data sets. (Yes, I am being sarcastic.)
These, of course, are accompanied by massive codebooks explaining the
nature of each of the fields in the data sets. The T07_Codebooks.zip
file available at that site contains .pdf files and .sdb files, which
seem to contain the information from the codebooks in some kind of
binary format. Do...

Hi,
I am making some intensive simulations for the testing of a Population Monte
Carlo algorithm. This involves also a study of the CPU times in two different
case.
What I am trying to measure is the "real" CPU time, the one which is independent
on the %CPU.
I'm using the

NSS vs OpenSSL
Since Fedora is pushing NSS SSL instead of OpenSSL, has someone tested
tinc-vpn against NSS? As i recall, a single machine can not have
OpenSSL and mod_nss installed at the same time anymore. So if you
have apache running, you _may_ have problems running tinc? The nss
api is supposed to mostly similar to openssl api, but there are some
things openssl supports and somethings nss supports.

When you pay me you can harp on my "professionalism". Until then you
can <Mr. Garrison>go to Hell and die</Mr. Garrison>. I am at best a
hobbyist with LLVM at this point, using it for my own entertainment and
edification. (You could stand t...

Reason for _spec.rb convention
Hi
Easy one - I just wondered why all spec files for rspec_on_rails end
"_spec.rb" instead of just ".rb"? They are all inside the spec
folder so surely the fact they are specs is implicit?

Is log_in_vain really good or really bad?
Heya..
Yesterday someone "attacked" by box by connection to several ports.. In
other words, a simple portscan.. yet, since my box has "log_in_vain"
enabled, so it tries to log everything to /var/log/messages, since the
logfile got full and the size went over 100K, it tried to rotate the log
to save diskspace.

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Scoped no-alias metadata
...the standard simply states that the value needs to be "modified", not that such a modification needs to have any affect on the execution of the C program -- the value could be changed and then changed back -- a memory refresh cycle might count ;)
And in case you think I'm just being sarcastic, the standard says in 3.1:
"NOTE 2: "Modify" includes the case where the new value being stored is the same as the previous value."
Alright, I'm being slightly sarcastic, but nevertheless... ;)
Thanks again,

I have developed a softphone using osip&ilbc.
Now, i want to add speex to my softphone.

Is speex dead?
Who can tell me that?
Thanks in advanced.
