[LLVMdev] TableGen list merging
...PPC backend, there is a "helper" class used to define instructions that implicitly define a condition register:
class isDOT {
list<Register> Defs = [CR0];

}
and this gets used on instructions such as:
def ADDICo : DForm_2<13, (outs GPRC:$rD), (ins GPRC:$rA, s16imm:$imm),
"addic. $rD, $rA, $imm", IntGeneral,

but there is a small problem. If these instructions are also part of a larger block which also defines registers, like this:

New register class and patterns
I've added a new register class to my target, but haven't used any of the
new registers in any of the instructions. However when I compile llvm I get
the following error:
In SFEQ_ri: Could not infer all types in pattern
Curiously all the instructions where this error occurs are the set flag
instructions (flags like zero, less than, greater than etc).
Would anyone be able to figure out

to the current MachineFunction for other purposes. Can you use
MachineFunction::getRegInfo instead?

You need to insert new basic blocks and update CFG to accomplish this.
There is a hackish way to do this right now. Add a pseudo instruction
to represent this operation and mark it usesCustomDAGSchedInserter.
This means the intrinsic is mapped to a single (pseudo) node. But it
is then expanded into instructions that can span multiple basic
blocks. See
