the 'copula' package
...nction when I load the package and (try to) run something very simple: fit1 <- fitCopula(x1 = list(u11,u12,u13,u14,u15,u16,u17,u18), tCopula, optim.control = list(NULL), method = "BFGS") Anybody also using it, successfully or unsuccessfully? I'd appreciate a tip or two. Further png() question
...o pass a par() argument to the png() command? I am wanting to produce 4 plots per object, which I normally acheive on an X window by par(mfrow=c(1,4)). I have tried calling a new plot and setting par in this way but this has no bearing when I call png(). Any suggestions? Passing colnames to graphics title
Hi, Just a quick query - if I'm creating a function to produce a number of histograms per page of output (one per column from a matrix), how can I pass the column name of the matrix into the title (or indeed to form part of the x-axis label)? TIA, Laura Laura Quinn Institute of Atmospheric Science School of Earth and Environment University of Leeds Leeds LS2 9JT tel: +44 113 343 1596 fax: +44 113 343 6716 mail: laura at env.leeds.ac.uk

Linux SSO with samba4?
...vironment? I have done some testing and the results so far looks as if it is not quite there yet. For example, if I ssh to a machine using kerberos credentials, I cannot ssh to it without have a local account defined on that machine. Does a kerberos/ldap solution solve that kind of problem? br, Quinn

Creating 3D Gaussian Plot
...ate this with its inverse as a means for a "next best" situation. It seems that this isn't sufficient for my needs and I'm really after creating a continuous 3d gaussian mesh with a "positive" and "negative" dipole. Can anyone offer any pointers at all? How do I get an ssh client to authenticate with samba4's kerberos GSSAPI?
...===================== "hostname -f" on the client reveals: ubuntu-test.mydomain.net I can both forward and reverse resolve cofil01.mydomain.net on the client side. Is it necessary to create a /etc/krb5.keytab file on the client in order for ssh kerberos authentication to work? -- br, Quinn

How do I get an ssh client to authenticate with samba4's kerberos GSSAPI? [Solved]
...SAPIStrictAcceptorCheck no The default is yes, using "no" will, according to the manpage "clients may authenticate against any service key stored in the machine's default store." I hope this helps others that have similar setups as I do. Thank you all for your input. br, Quinn

Discussion about Compiz and working togeher
I would like to get a better understanding as to why Quinn's patches have not been accepted into the compiz git tree. I feel Quinn's patches could greatly improve compiz. She has made quite a lot of progress wrt to enhancing compiz with her cgwd window decorator which allows users to write their own themes for window decorations. Also, many of th...

SYSLINUX 3.11-pre10
Okay, the serial port feature in 3.11-pre9 was of course completely broken (I seem to have bad luck with -pre9's :)... a 3.11-pre10 is now available, and it does seem to have a more reliable handling of arrow keys ... *but not perfect*. There simply is no way to reliably detect both [Esc] and arrow keys on existing serial consoles. -hpa

Beryl and Compiz Merge: What's actually going on?
Compiz and Beryl merge: What's really going on? Recently Quinns post to the beryl-dev mailing list entitled 'Merge on' has led to a lot of discussion, some of which has been good and some of which has led to a lot of misinformation, to clear things up I'd like to give the story of the merge, and the justification for some of the more peculiar aspec...

White Noise
I'm wanting to create a series of near-identical matrices via the addition of "white noise" to my starting matrix. Is there a function within R which will allow me to do this? splitting services in samba4
Question: Right now samba4 is great as in all-in-one solution (samba, kerberos, ldap, dns) into one service. Is it possible to split it up so that for example, I run openldap on one server, kerberos on another server, and then dns/samba on a third server? br, Quinn

AGI and embargeability

Latest switcher patches, bugfix.
...and this fixes it. Also, I notice that in some cases switcher fails to get an icon for a window. Perhaps the icon code is forcing a search for a specific size, rather than 'best-fit'? Also, the patch allows usage of alt+shift+tab (in default keybindings) to initiate switcher as well. --Quinn -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
