correlated random effects in GLMMGibbs ?
Dear R-users, I wondered if anyone has extended GLMMGibbs to include correlated random effects, and if so, whether they would be willing to let me use their code? Jonathan Myles has no plans to extend glmm in this manner within the foreseeable future. "name_query failed to find name" when using broadcast address
Hi everyone, I'm trying to set up a Windows XP Pro client to connect to a Samba server (version 2.2.8) on a Redhat 8.0 linux box, but have been having trouble for the past 3 days. I have gone through Troubleshooting Samba at [http://us1.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/Samba24Hc13.pdf] but I can't figure out how to fix the problem. I suspect that the broadcast address may not be the same on both

Having problems with S100U
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've tested the S100U unit in two different computers both with different USB subsystems. The one it worked the best in used the usb-uhci USB driver. The other system uses the usb-ohci USB driver. To make sure it was not the installation, I used the same hard drive that had asterisk in both systems. And I moved the X101P and S100U between both

Nortel M Series phones support
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've searched the mailing list quite extensively, but didn't come up with anything promising (some things wer helpful, though). Does anyone know if Nortel M Series (specifically the 2008, 2616, 7208, and 7310) phones can be made to work with the TDM400P card or if they are ADSI compatible at all? I kind of doubt they will work if they are

Samba and Solidworks (cat and dog)?
Hi all, We've been using samba for a couple of years now and it always running well. But last week we decided to shut down our windows server and move all solidworks file into the samba server. Since then we can't save project created by solidworks with error code shown below Access to \\sambaserver\solid-files\~$project1.SLDPRT was denied. The fact is that ~$*.SLDPRT was created on

Server video card
I have a big (8 quad core opterons) TYAN server with only the most basic mobo graphics capability and KDE under Xen is exceedingly slow and the attainable resolution is not very high. Is there wisdom on a particular card or chip that plays well with Xen (OpenSuSE 11.0)? THANK YOU! Samba memory usage - how big is it?
Hi, I'd upgraded samba to v3.0.32 last Sunday before our samba server started to hang. Every day we have to restart our server 2-3 times (today I just restart it once). I can see via System Monitor that 33 of our users each (pid) consume 13.6Mb (average) of memory. Our server only have 1Gb of RAM but usually it runs very well (except that we've already moved solidworks engineer to work

Xen - multiCPUs per socket setting?
I''m still trying to figure out how to get my Xen installation on a 34-CPU machine (8 quad cores) to recognize more than one CPU per socket. It seems to default to one CPU per socket on this machine. Win2003ServerEnterprise will support 8 quad cores (32 CPUs) in a native install, but I can''t fathom why it won''t when installed under Xen (OpenSuSE11.0). Thanks for any

R installation problems on Linux Mint 18.1 via jessie-cran3
Okay folks, I give up and - frankly - I'm fed up! I thought I'd sorted all this last week, but clearly not. I've tried using mirrors from here in the UK, Ireland, France and the USA and whichever mirror I use, all I get is this: clive at climate ~ $ sudo apt-get update Hit:1 http://ubuntu.mirrors.uk2.net/ubuntu xenial InRelease Ign:2 http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable

R installation problems on Linux Mint 18.1 via jessie-cran3
Is there a reason for jessie-cran3 rather than xenial? For Linux Mint 18 (admittedly not 18.1) I have deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu xenial/ as one of the apt entries. Firefox 68 jnlp files
icedtea-web package included with the distros is the plugin that handles javaws for firefox for both RHEL/CentOS 6 and 7 and openjdk. I have yet to find an app that cannot use openjdk instead of oracle java. It may be a little less streamlined, but it's functional. Ignore/cancel any pop ups that talk about updating java. If I missed this answer, I apologize as I receive the digests.
