CentOS7: Setting up ldap over TLS in kickstart file
...lcd > > I'm unable to see what system-config-authentication is doing more in it's > setup. > > Thanks for your help I'm a bit stumped. My recipe was similar: authconfig --enableshadow --passalgo=sha512 --enablefingerprint --enableldap --enableldapauth --ldapserver=ldap.ourcompany.com --ldapbasedn=dc=ourcompany,dc=com --enablecache --enableldaptls then, in %post: curl http://www.ourcompany.com/ca/ca.crt \ -s -o /etc/openldap/cacerts/ca.ourcompany.com.pem /usr/sbin/cacertdir_rehash /etc/openldap/cacerts And that did the trick. The main difference is that you instal...

CentOS7: Setting up ldap over TLS in kickstart file
Hi, I'm facing a problem with setting up LDAP+TLS client authentication in a kickstart script on CentOS7 for several days. Setting up manualy the config with system-config-authentication works but I need to automate this in kickstart for deploying cluster nodes. This show that the server side is running fine. At this time the message is #systemctl status sssd |....

Some basic questions about accessing DFS/DCE shares with SAMBA 3.0
...ation, or invokations we need to do to make SAMBA use the DCE/DFS credentials? For example, on AIX, when we want to use a DFS/DCE file share, we use this command: dce_login dfsuser abc123 (the principal is 'dfsuser', the password 'abc123') and then the directory /.../remoteoffice.ourcompany.com/fs is available to us to work with. When we log in, the DCE principal and password gives us a "invalid password" error, although our regular AIX logins work splendidly (we only get the default permissions available to our logins, which is to browse but not write). Is there a special...

Actually, shouldn't it say "Eaton" now: http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/OurCompany/NewsEvents/NewsReleases/CT_141334 ? It's also named simply "Phoenixtec" in the NUT docs: http://www.networkupstools.org/protocols/sola.html Anyway.

Java+Tomcat on CentOS 6.x
So whats good practice for installing Java/JDK and Tomcat for EL6 these days? The base repository included Tomcat6.6 is built with GCJ which I'd rather avoid. I'm fine with using OpenJDK ... Do most folks just use the Apache tarball for Tomcat and install it in a user directory or /opt/something ? -- john r pierce N 37, W 122 santa cruz ca

vacation plugins for squirrelmail
Hi, I am afraid I have a question to ask of you all. I have just completed setting up a mail server running on Ubuntu Server 10.04. It has postfix, dovecot 1.2.19, LDAP and squirrelmail as the webmail. I have also created virtual users accounts on the system through LDAP. I can send and receive mails which is great. Now, what I am trying to do is to set up a vacation auto-reply on the
