noisy quantisation
The following creates a point process version of a sinewave (maybe
there's a better way):
p<-amp*cos(2*pi*freq*(1:n)/n ) + 0.5
as.numeric(runif(1:n)<p)
I get something like this:
1 o oo oo o o ooooo o
0 ooo o o o o o ooo ooo
In case it's not obvious, this is a noisy version of
1 ooooooo ooooooo
0 ooooooo ooooooo
I was wondering if anyone can suggest a way to create a version where
I get 0s, 1s, and 2s something like a n...

Myth? 21 disk raidz3: "Don''t put more than ___ disks in a vdev"
In a discussion a few weeks back, it was mentioned that the Best Practices
Guide says something like "Don''t put more than ___ disks into a single
vdev." At first, I challenged this idea, because I see no reason why a
21-disk raidz3 would be bad. It seems like a good thing.
I was operating on assumption that resilver time was limited by sustainable
throughput of disks, which

aliasing in icecast2
Hi,
I've been investigating setting up an icecast2 proxy to proxy an ogg
stream. In icecast 1, I would use the "alias" configuration entry to set
up the proxying. In icecast 2, I haven't been able to find any mention of
this functionality. Does it exist?
The message http://www.xiph.org/archives/icecast/1546.html implies that it
is possible, but I've not found out how.

It's looks, that xts data in mamory looks like this (Open=o,High=h,Low=l etc):
ooooo(...)ohhhhh(...)hlllll(...)lccccc(...)cvvvvv(...)vaaaaa(...)a
So if I want to read Open price I need to read this array (from C
code) from x[0] to x[nrow(x)-1] where x is the pointer do AAPL.
I have to test functions - one based on memcpy and second based on for loop:

Thank's for your answer...

PS: as you see, there are several rsync command lines because the amount
of files is about 10,000 and as the problem appeared, i decomposed one
rsync command in several (but without positive effect on the problem)

Status of --ignorcase option in main tree/build?
Hi,
I'm very interested in learning the status of the --ignorecase patch
being included in the main tree... is there a reason it still isn't in
there?
For anyone who is forced to dealing with backing up windows boxes, this
is a big problem, and I can't believe that it isn't affecting a lot of
people...
Or maybe there is a simple workaround?
I'm trying to backup files

I think I have 4 options.
1, Modify chan_sip.c to update a new field in sipusers realtime table
with the status of the sip peer/user. Then use agi to dial sip calls.
Check the status field if OK then dial the fullcontact from the sip
table. If not goto voicemail or where ever else I want the call to go..

Ldapscripts v1.0 !
Hi all,
I've been working on shell scripts that allow to manage ldap accounts (users,
groups, machines). They are similar to the smbldap-tools but do not need PERL to
work (and so on...) and are *very* simple to configure - they may be a good
alternative. The only tools you need are standard ldap client commands (ldapadd,
ldapdelete, ldapmodify, ldapsearch).
The scripts can be used as
