Sid Meier's Pirates! crashes consistently
I'm running Wine v.1.1.26 on Xubuntu 9.04 on a brand-new machine from IbexPC. I installed Pirates, installed the 1.02 patch, and overwrote the executable with the No-CD exe. I can get the game to open and run, and with the right settings, it runs really well--but only for a minute or two. Then the game crashes with the following error: The program Pirates!.exe has encountered a serious

Hello! Today i tried to launch BF2 with following config: Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 Wine 1.1.10 Geforce 9800GT Latest nvidia driver in repository (177.82) I applied a crack (that's working on windows) and copied following dlls in the BF2 directory: d3dx9_25 and d3dx9_36, as they are needed to run the game! F.E.A.R.
...been looking around and I got this page: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=5159&iTestingId=12223 Now, I'm seeing stuff about "1. Put native d3dx9_36.dll to your game or system32 folder", and "4. Change HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\OffscreenRenderingMode to "fbo" to get better fps and Pixel Doubling/Soft Shadows working" but I don't know how to do these. Can someone explain a little bit for me? Thanks.

Problem with Hitman Blood Money
I've installed Hitman Blood Money (twice), using Playonlinux. The installation went (almost perfectly) well, but directx installation crashed. When I launch the game, it works fine but the image is upside down... I found a thread giving an answer (changing the OffscreenRenderingMode here : http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=4976) but (I think because of DX crash) there is no such variable in the registry... Thank you for your help and excuse me for my english

Morrowind with a GMA 950
...ncher works fine, but when I click play, the window pops up and there's just noise there. The music plays, but the graphics don't show up at all. I made the changes to the morrowind.ini file as indicated in the HOWTO on the app page for it. I also tried adding the Direct3D settings, but the OffscreenRenderingMode = fbo didn't work, it said it couldn't find the shader mode or something like that. I took it off, and it starts without the error, but as I mentioned before, there's the graphical error and I can't see anything. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

...rashes in a 6 hour period. And i seam to get random crashing of different games just out of the blue. I have looked online about this issue. I heard that you need the following in the Direct3D key "DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl" "Multisampling"="enabled" "OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo" "PixelShaderMode"="enabled" "RenderTargetLockMode"="auto" "StrictDrawOrdering"="enabled" "UseGLSL"="enabled" Does anyone know if this is true? How can we improve WNE?
...Add an option to disable/enable/edit debug channels for all programs. As you may know, a lot of programs runs faster (especially games, can be +40% faster), so having an easy way to do this thourgh Winecfg would be a nice idea. 2. Be able to configure some registry kets through Winecfg, especially OffscreenRenderingMode, UseGLSL and VideoMemorySize, why not put a button in the Graphics tab that would show up an "Advanced condifuration" window? 3. When a program crashes, show up a window with the debugging information, so you shouldn't always run the program in terminal. And if debugging is disabled,...

I've been trying for a very long time now (off and on for a year), and I finally stumbled upon this: Code: If you are having graphics issues, use regedit to try some registry keys: * UseGLSL=disabled * DirectDrawRenderer=opengl * OffscreenRenderingMode=pbuffer or fbo * RenderTargetLockMode=auto now, where the heck are these registry keys? I've scoured my registry for them, and can't seem to find them in hkley current user software wine, or wherever they're supposed to be. using wine 1.1.13

Medieval total war
I installed the game - Medieval total war. It seems everything works fine, but there is one problem. When launching the game. I saw the screen does not display military unit or any other game related stuff (e.g. forest, casstle, troop, etc.) It only shows a screen that contains grass and a blue something like sea. Though when clicking the military unit, I can see green spots on the ground
