Saving "admins" from themselves
...MI (by that I mean they copied and
pasted configs that they saw online). Digging around a bit it seems the
attacker used the AMI action "pjsip show auths" followed by "pjsip show
auth <peer name>" which got them the credentials to their account. I know
we can't protect n00bs in every scenario (username 100 password 100) but I
wonder if by default certain items such as passwords should not be
available in plain text. If the consensus is that hiding such info is good
I would want to contribute to a patch to hide plain text passwords by
default across Asterisk.

acts_as_authenticated trouble
First off, I''d like to address that I''m n00bs.
I''ve read the README and blogs associated with this plugin, and there
really isn''t too much documentation. I have the newest version of
rails,ruby, and acts_as_authenticated installed.
#The setup
I set up the acts_as_authenticated in the following manner.

- Table names should be lower case and pluralised (ie topics, not topic
or Topics)
- Calls to <tt>script/generate scaffold</tt> should be lower case and
SINGULAR (ie topic, not topics or Topic or Topics)
I think this should be made more clear to n00bs like myself. I''m finding
the online documentation for Rails is terrible. (Ruby has some great
docs though).
I hope that helps anyone who was getting as frustrated as I was

I'm looking to set up a Jabber server and autocreate the user lists from

Does anyone have any pointers? I'm hitting google, but haven't found

Query Offset Parameter problem
Greetings,
I''m trying to make a simple logging application that just displays the
last few rows of information in the log. In order to do this, I am
trying to use the ":offset" option for find. However, I am not getting
the results I expect.
For testing purposes, the query is being run against a table (MySQL)
that contains 11 records. According to the RoR documentation,

The next guide on Sambadmin will about creating a great LDAP

received two comments about what the next guide should be,
especially since the site has had over 500 visitors in the

I came to this decision after reading my posts. I stated that

Compiling R-2.11.0 with ATLAS-tuned BLAS and LAPACK
Hello. I am a Linux neophyte and know almost nothing ?about compiling,
so I would appreciate any help and advice y'all would care to offer.
I am trying to compile the 64 bit version of R using a tuned ATLAS and
LAPACK (ATLAS 3.9.24). I am running Ubunto 10.04 LTS (through wubi,
FWIW). The ATLAS and LAPACK files (atlas.so, f77blas.so, lapack.so,
and cblas.so) are sitting in the folder

Mac Wine.app Launcher
Hey,
I'm running Wine 1.1 on OS-X Leopard, and am trying to figure out how to tell Finder to open all files with a .exe extension to open with Wine. The only way I can think of is to create a new .app folder with just enough information to link to the actual Wine executable.
I took apart the .app package of jEdit and replaced all references to jEdit with ones for Wine, then symlinked the
