problems ensuring that a service is absent
...missing:
> Error: /Stage[main]//Service[foo]: Could not evaluate: Could not find init script for ''foo''
Of course, I could either hope that removing the package will properly
clean up or implement stopping the service in a exec resource, but
both[1] do not appeal to my inner Monk[2].
Does anyone have a better idea?
Best Regards, David

Unit tests - NilClass problem
Hi!
Yesterday I started to write my unit tests for the fist time using

My customer_test.rb looks like this:

Editors which have strong/solid support for SWeave?
Greetings!
I have a few colleagues who like the idea of Sweave, but have failed
to become enlightened monks of the One True Editor
(http://www.dina.dk/~abraham/religion/)
Are there any other Microsoft-centric editors or IDEs which have solid
support for writing SWeave documents (dual R / LaTeX enhancements
similar to ESS's support)? Has anyone tried the folding editors which
support Noweb?

Re: Chattha Sangayana - bit of a challenge
Hi Austin,
As a Buddhist monk there were many reasons for choosing to go with Linux, mostly ethical. Consequently, there isn't much time to learn, coupled with electricity and internet connectivity limitations, so troubleshooting has been an OJT kinda thing. Unfortunately, what may seem to be a simple request, like "Te...

Quickly: for various reasons, mostly ethical but also practical, I am trying to convince my teacher to convert all computers to Linux, but this particular program (CSCD) has to be able to work in order for the argument to be persuasive. Of course, should the monks here switch to Linux, there would be a ripple effect.

libmysqlclient.so.14(libmysqlclient_14)(64bit)
Hi,
I'm trying to update a c4 x86_64 system. This fails because off
Error: Missing Dependency: libmysqlclient.so.14(libmysqlclient_14)(64bit)
is needed by package php-mysql
The system has MySQL 5 rpms, build on monk.karan.org. I can't
remember/find where I found these packages. The thing is, mysqlclient14
(4.1.14 4.c4) only provides libmysqlclient.so.14()(64bit), which was fine
with php-mysql-4.3.9-3.12.x86_64. However, php-mysql-4.3.9-3.15.x86_64
also wants libmysqlclient.so.14(libmysqlclient_14)(64bit):...

function for grouping
Dear All,
I'm wondering if there is a R function could give me all the
combinations of the grouping/cluster result, given the number of the groups.
e.g.
3 objects: x1 x2 x3, number of groups is 2
so the result will be
group1:x1,x2; group2: x3
group1: x1;group2: x2,x3
group1: x1,x3;group2: x2
many thanks
