Guest OS installed in wine?
Hi!
I would like to install Win98SE as a guest operating system on my Linux
Mandrake. Is it possible using wine? If so, how to do it? Shall I leave the
free Win partition that will be used during this installation process, or
maybe it's not necessary? And do you know anything about the possibilities
of windows installed in this way: will all my games and programs run
properly?
Also the sound

Cambridge Grammar cd (runs with Win 98, NT4 ... not wine?)
...this should run with Windows 98, NT4, 2000, ME or XP - so it seems a bit odd that it wouldn't run on Wine. It can't be demanding anything too funky or recent.
Would be great to get this working as I'm teaching English in Japan from March and the book weighs too much to squeeze into my meagre luggage allowance!!

What is Mandel's (Fitting) Test?
...enerally have an advantage over a linear function
simply by dint of having more terms to play with. So I've been looking for a
test that takes this advantage into account and I came across something called
the Mandel Test. It is available in the quantchem package, but the manual
contains a very meagre description of it's details (assumptions, etc).
Furthermore, besides biology/chemistry papers that reference it in passing,
I've been able to find only one reference online that addresses it's use
(http://www.econ.kuleuven.be/public/ndbae06/PDF-FILES/vanloco.doc), but even
then it lack...

You Have Been Invited To The DSL/CABLE Party!!
...and non broadband telephone users. I saw your email address on a forum that was discussing broadband and telephone issues. Right now we are offering unlimited local and long distance calling throughout North America for only $19.95 a month. For those who don't have broadband the cost is still a meagre $61.00 a month. For an additional $30.00 a month you can add on unlimited calling to Europe and Asia.
I purchased the plan three weeks ago. I don't market anything until I try it, and know for a surety that my name is behind something that works correctly and will be of great benefit to peopl...

[LLVMdev] Re: LLVM 1.2 Release & Status update
Congratulations, Chris & LLVM Team.
Having read nearly all the commit notices for this release I can attest
to the amount of work that's gone into this release. Unfortunately, my
contributions were meagre but I look forward to doing more for the 1.3
release now that I'm settled in Seattle.
I'm looking forward to finally constructing my compiler with LLVM over
the coming weeks.
Thanks and congratulations again.
Reid.

unable to compile
I am still trying to run Turbocad Le under wine (see earlier post

I have discovered it will run under version 20040121 or older but has
errors with later versions.

Digium G729 licensing - is it worth the trouble?
I have been impressed with the quality and meagre bandwidth of the G729
codec from Digium. I am in a testing phase of our roll out, we are using 5
Asterisk PBXs in various countries to provide connectivity for our
employees, owners and family. As we are testing, and our setup is somewhat
complex due to the peculiarities of our connectivity, there...

LLVM 1.2 Release & Status update
News flash: LLVM 1.2 is now available!
--------------------------------------
LLVM 1.2 is the result of ~3 months of hard work by many people in the
LLVM community. It contains a bunch of new features, produces
substantially better code, and has many bug fixes over the 1.1 release.
A detailed list of new and improved features are included in the 1.2

v1.2 development tree started
I merged all the new features and latest v1.1 changes under one tree:
http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-1.2/
The changeset order is kind of weird though. The timestamps jump all
around. Wonder if there's a way to reorder them so that it looks more
sane..
The status of the new features:
1. CONDSTORE extension is probably the largest change. It adds new
"modification sequences" for
