[Wine] Cambridge Grammar cd (runs with Win 98, NT4 ... not wine?)
Hi everyone, Today I tried to use the CD-ROM that came with my "Cambridge Grammar of English" on Ubuntu 8.10 and Wine 1.1.14 The install went ok, but when I try to run it I get the following error: Code: $ wine start 'C:\Program Files\Cambridge\Cambridge Grammar of English\cge.exe' fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000100 vwilson at hp-pavilion:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Cambridge/Cambridge Grammar of English$ fixme:ntdll:NtQueryObject Unsupported information class 3 fixme:debugstr:CheckRemoteDebuggerPresent (0xffffffff)->(0x119da7c): Stub! fixme:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_FillGLCaps OpenGL implementation supports 32 vertex samplers and 32 total samplers fixme:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_FillGLCaps Expected vertex samplers + MAX_TEXTURES(=8) > combined_samplers fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x119be98,0x00000000), stub! fixme:psapi:EnumPageFilesA (0x68e8b0, 0x1171860) stub fixme:psapi:EnumPageFilesA (0x68e8b0, 0x1146058) stub fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 2d0c04 (device=2d access=0 func=301 method=0) wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0xb58c45 (thread 0018), starting debugger... It says "starting debugger..." but that's actually the last thing it does. I've waited ages and nothing else has been printed to the console. Anyone got any ideas on what to try with it? The literature says this should run with Windows 98, NT4, 2000, ME or XP - so it seems a bit odd that it wouldn't run on Wine. It can't be demanding anything too funky or recent. Would be great to get this working as I'm teaching English in Japan from March and the book weighs too much to squeeze into my meagre luggage allowance!! Cheers, V
